Definetly a suprise. I did not see this one coming at all, even if they were slipping in the standings.

Tue Mar 22, 2005 2:55 am

Wow, that is definitely a surprise. But I think it's very possible that a new coach (like Flip Saunders) could help turn them around.

Tue Mar 22, 2005 2:55 am

wow...kinda surprising...how many coaches has it been?

Tue Mar 22, 2005 3:29 am

I wonder why...

Tue Mar 22, 2005 3:33 am

McInnis

Tue Mar 22, 2005 3:34 am

He called Boozer a cunt. That's why he got fired..

..and also his team has been struggling ever since the All-Star break

Tue Mar 22, 2005 3:38 am

It is surprising, but he had a lot of problems with Snow and McInnis, as it seems. He got into trouble with the Boozer comment, and his team hasn't been winning lately. I bet they asked LeBron for approval before the firing.

Tue Mar 22, 2005 4:00 am

I bet they ask Lebron for everything, even the small things like the halftime entertainment.

They don't want Lebron angry.

lol

Tue Mar 22, 2005 5:12 am

 well it wouldn't surprise me. They practically hand feed Lebron everything he wants.

But I don't blame them, I'd do it too.

Tue Mar 22, 2005 6:35 am

Will Phil Jackson coach Cavs/??

Tue Mar 22, 2005 7:30 am

and Phil Jackson with 15 championships will never be considered a good coach because...
"He had Jordan and Pippen, Shaq and Kobe and Bronbron and Z(??)"

(I am not implying that Cavs are gonna win 6 with Phil Jackson, but just thinking what would happen if he did.)

Well I'd prefer coaching LeBron vs Kobe.

Tue Mar 22, 2005 8:01 am

Maybe they fired Silas because they know Phil Jackson is free and Lebron could possibly lure him to get back to coaching :) it would be very interesting seeing Phil Jackson coaching the unlimited multi-talented James though. I'm not sure if Phil is the right coach for Lebron as far as developing young guys like Bron because his main asset is to manage and control big egos and is not as good as developing the younger guys - I might be wrong on this one.

Tue Mar 22, 2005 8:08 am

Paul Silas was a great coach, I dont know why they keep firing NBA coaches, half the time the losing is because the players not the coaches

Tue Mar 22, 2005 8:25 am

He called Boozer a cunt. That's why he got fired..

 paul silas is pure comedy but its sad to see him go.. he was one of my favourite coaches.

" jesus, i'm not speaking chinese! "

Tue Mar 22, 2005 9:33 am

With Flip, maybe the Cavs have a chance.
I'm not saying conference champs or anything, but a solid boost maybe! 8-)

Tue Mar 22, 2005 9:41 am

its hard to support this move because i think paul silas is a great coach and a great guy...

but i know it is the right move for the cavs franchise.

Tue Mar 22, 2005 10:20 am

Did it coming down to Silas or McInns or something?

Sit wrote:Did it coming down to Silas or McInns or something?

naw, the cavs are just slipping fast and they needed to make a move fast before they slipped even further.

Tue Mar 22, 2005 11:34 am

Fair enough. I'm still surpirsed Jeff didnt paly at all in the game...

Tue Mar 22, 2005 12:35 pm

That's what you get when you're posting in a forum full of LA fans. Come on, Phil Jackson... this isn't NBA Live. However, I will bite my tongue if it actually does happen.

When you can't win with Lebron scoring 56, something has GOT to change.

Tue Mar 22, 2005 12:42 pm

well i think it wouldve been smart to keep him atleast till the end of the season , cavs are still a good team and can get far into the playoffs with or with him . i guess this is an ok move for now but if they can get a good coach it will be an excellent move by the cavs.

Tue Mar 22, 2005 1:01 pm

Brendan Malone, previously assistant coach of the Cavs, has officially been named head coach.

Tue Mar 22, 2005 1:35 pm

why did silas talk all that trash about boozer?
that really pissed me off, but other than that i think he was a good coach.

Tue Mar 22, 2005 2:41 pm

this is weak. jim paxson should be the one fired for the boozer fiasco and for not improving the team. this team is pretty thin on talent after james and ilgauskas

silas did a great job handling a 18 year old superstar. he also got gooden to back on track for the most part.

it's a liitle ironic that cleveland is making the playoffs for the 1st time in a while and they're firing their coach
