sorry if there is already a thread like this that exists....

this is one is open to anything to NCAA b-ball. i hope this thread picks up once the brackets come out. maybe i could start a 'pool' or whatever, just a a small contest to see who picks the winners

so what do you guys think?

is UNC and their nba prospect laden team the best team in the nation? or is the steady fighting illini who just got their 1st loss on sunday??

That game pissed me off. I was all hyped for Illinois to go undefeated and they get, um, defeated... :x! Plus GT, my team, crapped out this year.

an undefeated regular season would have been great. but the postseason is about the start and imo it was good to get that loss out of their system :P

btw... these conference tournaments: are they really necessary? it's nice to see conference rivals go at it again. however, it virtually negates what happenes in conference play ("regular" season) since the winner of the conference tournament gets a share of the conference title. seems more like revenue generating event over anything else...

I love the Conference Tourney. Who can forget Maryland's three-day run where they knocked off the number one, two, and three seeds in the ACC.

Anyways, I'm really hoping that the Terps get in this year. They're not the most consistent team by anymeans(sweeping Duke, getting swept by Clemson) but I think they could really make some noise if they're playing every game like it's the last of the season.

I wouldn't be surprised to see UNC take it all the way though. Last year, they were a group of NBA prospects, this year they an actual team. I wonder how many will actually leave for the NBA this summer. There's easily five guys on that team with first round potential.

i think those 5 UNC guys will be 1st round draft picks, which i believe will be unprecedented. the kentucky team came close with mercer, walker, delk, mccarty but they all didin't declare in the same draft but all ended up as 1st rounders.

i think it would be a disappointment if UNC doesn't at least make the final four with all that talent

air gordon....I'm a fan of conference tourneys, but not of the scheduling of having conference play then conference tourney....I reckon season starts they play their cupcakes, their non-conference schedule (less a few games), then play 1st round of games in conference schedule, then have a few non-conference games to mix it up, then 2nd round of games in conference schedule then conference tourneys....I don't know, just some random idea I came up with....

Whats your take on Iowa, personally I think they deserve to go after that win. But the guys on espn say they won't get in because they have sucked without thier best player (suspended.)

Man, WVU put on a great run, they came from out of most people's radar screen and got down to the Big East championship. They beat Villanova though :( (N)

Duke had 4 in1999, with Brand, Langdon, William Avery and Maggette all going in the first round.

I'll post a prediction when the brackets are set :proud:

I watched Washington beat Arizona, I'm routing for them now just because they have a little 5' 8" guy who's hilarious. I still think Illinois is winning it this year though.

yeah i have watched UW beat Arizona for the last 3yrs now. and it all started with Nate "The Great" Robinson Joining the Team after He quit playing for the UW Football team. Nate Robinson was All-Pac10 in Football now hes the Best poing guard in the Pac-10. Not even Salim Stoudamire and his 30 some points were enough to take down Nate and the huskies. drawing montana in the 1st round is nice. but UW is in the toughest Bracket in the tourney they have Wake Forest,Lousiville and Georgia Tech. i might be living some other teams out but the Alberquerue bracket is the toughest out of the 4.
