I reckon it'd be good if the league made a rule that if a player refuses to report to his team, the number of games he misses for them is the same amount he should miss for his new team....so JJ missed like 15 games for the Hornets so if the rule applied he would be forced to miss 15 games with the Suns. This would prevent, or decrease players refusing to report. Everything of course is w/o pay.

Here's an incentive for Shawn Kemp:

"For every point you score, I'll assume custody of one of your children"

They should just be like the NFL and refuse to give garenteed contracts. Then people like Blount would actually play to thier ability.

matt , even better , they should do that PLUS during the time period they dont play , they dont get paid!!!!! Now that'll be fun!! :D

non guaranteed contracts would be good.

I'd like to see provisions made for teams who trade for players who refuse to report - suspensions without pay and the possibility of terminating contracts without having to pay a lump sum - on the basis that the player is, in effect, breaking his contract. However, I don't think that provision should be extended to players who simply aren't trying as hard as they could.

it should be the Leagues job to compensate team whose players never reported... thge teams' job to punish players who dont try...
