Sacramento Gets:
Kenny Thomas

I think Philadephia got good deal, getting an All Star for really just role players
Thu Feb 24, 2005 2:48 pm
Shit...Webber?? To Philly?? Is this thing confirmed?? It is?? I don't know what to say...
Thu Feb 24, 2005 2:52 pm
sorry bout dat paradize , we made the threads at about the same time . I believe this trade might will make philly an over .500 team now . Not a contender yet but if webber stays healthy maybe. They got him in a steal.
Thu Feb 24, 2005 2:55 pm
o god... thats amazing. wow
Thu Feb 24, 2005 2:58 pm
damn knicks missed anther golden chance.
well, 76ers just sealed the Atlantic Division.
And the Knicks are set for the lottery now. No chance of a surge unless they make a move!

oh its no prob, i was just redirectin ya
but yea this will make Philly much better team, I have no idea why the Kings wanted to trade away C-Webb except the fact about his injuries, now if he stays healthy in Philly, that would be good combo for Iverson
Thu Feb 24, 2005 3:02 pm
So it's confirmed? Or is still the type of rumour like Shaq out of the season or the Lakers trades??
Thu Feb 24, 2005 3:05 pm
Its confirmed.I got beat to the punch on this one.Of course Philly got the best of this deal.Sacramento is gonna be ok though
Dalembert
Webber
Iguodala
Korver
AI
thats a nice lineup
Thu Feb 24, 2005 3:11 pm
Got damn it is
Thu Feb 24, 2005 3:11 pm
do you guys know if webber will play thursday against the knicks?
Thu Feb 24, 2005 3:12 pm
Ummmm i think maybe or the game after that.
Thu Feb 24, 2005 3:13 pm
Kenny Thomas and Cuttino are back and reunited from their Houston days. Amazing. Oh yeah, and Webber is in philly... BRILLIANT!

. Finally AI has a legitimate post threat to work with. Lets see how they do.
On the other side, I can see why Sacramento did this trade. Webber isnt getting younger, and Peja plays better without him. I'm not saying that sacramento is better without webber, its just that peja is a better player without him.
Iverson and Webber running the pick and roll...

or Webber posting and then kicking it out to Korver for the 3

Has to be the worst trade in history.
Are the Kings trying to do bad? They could have got Kurt Thomas plus more from the Knicks for him. Kurt Thomas is much better than any of those 3 Philly guys.
I wanted him gone and was happy when I heard the news, but that was not knowing who they got for him. They got crap for him though.
Webber is too good for all 3 of those guys, let alone him and two other guys. And Matt Barnes is a solid player too. They should have kept him.
The Kings at least should have got some draft picks out of it.
And when I say I wanted him traded, it's because with him he demands the ball and slows down the pace and Peja doesn't get as many shots and with him on the IR last year, Kings were the #1 team with Peja as their offense. But with him injured, this can be trouble.
This was just a stupid trade. They could have gotten so much more for him.

poor Webber fans.....
well weird trade.....but its gonna help the 76ers.....with Iggy developing chances are the 76ers might be a strong team next season

......
as for the Kings.....Im not sure what the heck they saw in those 3 guys
Thu Feb 24, 2005 3:20 pm
They got depth, which is what they wanted. Kurt Thomas and Kenny Thomas are virtually the same, and big nasty is back in sacramento as well. They should have gotten some picks but oh well. Webber and AI! Imagine a conference finals of philly and miami now.. simply awesome.
Thu Feb 24, 2005 3:27 pm
It's not as bad as it first seemed. After taking another look at Sacramento's side of the trade, they're not exactly getting nothing in return. Still, I would have expected them to try for a little more in exchange for Webber, or perhaps try for Glenn Robinson's contract; and if they couldn't do that, keep Webber around.
I can't fault the Sixers for making the trade, it's a move that could propel them comfortably ahead of Boston, locking up the Atlantic and the third seed. Sacramento may have achieved what they wanted to by shipping Webber, but Philadelphia got the better end of this one.
Thu Feb 24, 2005 3:31 pm
Philly will win the atlnatic now (barring any major injuries). Theres no excuse or reason to make me think otherwise.
Imagine philly and the heat in the conference finals.. man. shaq/wade vs webber/iverson...
Thu Feb 24, 2005 3:34 pm
webber gone = kings better.
Thu Feb 24, 2005 3:39 pm
I told ben it wouldnt be long before we'd see this kind of thread. How exactly are the kings "better" without webber?
Thu Feb 24, 2005 3:43 pm
A lot of people will say it's a bad trade, but I've heard many Kings fans say Webber hurts the teams, and is just stat padding with his triple doubles. He makes them play slower, he's bad defensively, and he hogs the ball by holding it too long and using too much clock.
Iverson and Webber is going to be a nice combo, Philly should take the Atlantic now, I'll be surprised if they don't. Corilss Williamson back in Sacramento, and Kenny T and Mobley re-united.
This is also a bad trade for the Raptors, we have Philly's pick

Kings definately lose, but shot attempts will be freed open.
Thu Feb 24, 2005 5:44 pm
Wow!
if Iverson can get that mindset of championship again like in 2001, i think Sixers could be major contenders.
Dalembert is finally gettin his groove, they now have one of the top 5 PF's in the league,Iguodola and Korver only get better and AI, well is one of the top 4 best guards in the NBA.
Out in the east they could be up there with the Pistons n Heat.
Thu Feb 24, 2005 6:57 pm
looks like #3 seed in the East will be a tougher matchup now. Philly is an east contender now....they still look weak for the West, but we'll see how they play on court.

Looks like KG's stats.
Great deal for Philly, my favourite team Boston is gonna have a hard struggle for coming first in the Divison now.
