yup, it was. but we still dono for a fact that jax is going to be our coach again.

hmm, i see what you are saying. this deal will pend on phil's decision to come or not. before or after deadline..

who do you have in mind then? (my proposed deal)

Sun Feb 20, 2005 11:01 am

Exactly... I think Grizz if they deal Stro, theyd push for Caron Butler. In fact any trad ethat will happen will prob include Butler...

I think that the package of Vlade, George and Butler will be certain if something goes down!

Sun Feb 20, 2005 12:29 pm

I too think a big man would be the Lakers' best option. They don't need a point guard or a swingmen who needs the ball in his hands to be effective - as has already been pointed out, that's Kobe's role. I wouldn't give up Odom for Boozer though, and I definitely wouldn't give up Odom plus a couple of other players.

Sun Feb 20, 2005 12:42 pm

this will leave the Lakers REALLY thin.....but if they get a 'superstar' or All-Star player for Kobe then next season they can add more pieces.

Sun Feb 20, 2005 12:52 pm

Boozer would be the best option out of all the speculations, if you want to survive in the west you will need big bodies in the middle. Lamar is not a strong forward and has struggled playing against the stronger Tim Duncans and Chris Webbers so far. Boozer is much more stronger then Odom is and probably the better player to defend those PFs in the West. With Boozer playing at the 4, they could slide Lamar to his natural position at the 3 spot. But the question is how effective can he be as a Small-Forward on this Laker team?

Sun Feb 20, 2005 1:01 pm

umm boozer just got bitched about his def. i dont think thats a good sign..

Sun Feb 20, 2005 1:02 pm

i read that it wil be
caron, slava and atkins for Davis but dont think it will push through since slava hhas a BYC.

about Boozer, i like him to be a Lakers but does his value equal 3 Lakers players?
if we getting Booz, Odom will not be incuded in the trade.

few names to consider for this 3-1 trade are:
Ray Allen
Reef
and Kidd

Sun Feb 20, 2005 1:03 pm

donde is the link?

Sun Feb 20, 2005 1:05 pm

call me crazy but i get the feeling that Paul Pierce might be the guy Lakers get.

Sun Feb 20, 2005 1:08 pm

Lol @ Ray Allen. All-Star SG + ish with Kobe = No purple & gold for him.

I really hope it wont be for Davis who is a shoot first player, which the Lakers dont need with Kobe. Also lets not forget he is questionable because of his injuries. Shareef Abdur Rahim would be a good pick since he is in the final year of his contract, but this player should be a "impact player" which I dont see in Shareef.

Im still guessing (hoping) it will be Boozer.

i read that it wil be
caron, slava and atkins for Davis but dont think it will push through since slava hhas a BYC.

Where did you see this if I may ask?

Sun Feb 20, 2005 1:15 pm

Allen have no problem playing along Kobe, dont know about Kobe.
also Sonics playing great this season, why change it.
but you never know, crazy thing appen in NBa today.

yes, i like Boozer trade, make more sense for the Lakers....and we dont have to give Odom

Sun Feb 20, 2005 1:54 pm

My moneys on: Caron, Vlade, George FOR Boozer

It makes most logical sense that it would happen...

Sun Feb 20, 2005 3:40 pm

Sun Feb 20, 2005 4:09 pm

Kobe4mvp gave me a link to this info.. i sorta lost it and i cant find it in my history folder... sorry fellas!

Sun Feb 20, 2005 4:55 pm

there is nothing on this trade its a crock of shit. only thing i was able to dig up was the lakers taking to orlando for Cato. and thats it.

Matt wrote:call me crazy but i get the feeling that Paul Pierce might be the guy Lakers get.

I got that feeling too Matt. Been hearing like of stuff about Pierce not being in bostons main plans anymore.

And If boston can get a couple of players for pierce they can then use them to more cap space and start over with their young players.

With the possible deals spoken about if the lakers can keep odom, it will be a strong side.

Mihm
Boozer
Odom
Kobe
Atkins

Not too bad at all.

or

Mihm
Cook
Odom
Bryant
Davis

Its probably just me, but I think odom is a better suit at sf, causes more mismatches and lets him work outside and inside.

Sun Feb 20, 2005 5:42 pm

For all of those who seem to have forgotten, Boozer was a solid 20/10 at one point in the season. I'd like to see him playing in LA, although there are players I'd prefer. Paul Pierce is an interesting one, but would it work?

Sun Feb 20, 2005 6:40 pm

Well do you also read in that ARTICLE (at the bottom) that Lakers and Phil Jaz agree on a 5 year contract. if this is true. well Lakers will have a bright future

Coach Phil
Mihm
Booz
Odom
Bryant
Atkins

look impressive!!!

Sun Feb 20, 2005 7:57 pm

Socal Sports Reported that it was indeed a trade for Carlos Boozer. The Lakers will send Caron Butler, Devean George and Vlade Divac to the Jazz if the trade still goes on. Seems like a good trade to me, although I dont like it to see Caron Butler go....the will make the Lakers better (Y)

ESPN News also reported the mistery trade last night live on tv with Chad Ford etc.

Sun Feb 20, 2005 8:10 pm

funny, because theres STILL NO LINK. you gotta prove it my friend..

if it goes down.. WHOA THATD BE AWESOME!! although butler was my "odom hasn't been living up to his billing" when discussing the lakers.. odom will be getting a chance to redeem himself. lets see if he can respond :?

Sun Feb 20, 2005 8:18 pm

Chad Ford's probably still reporting the Vlade for Kobe's draft rights trade

If it was Butler, Vlade and Devean that would be an absolute steal. Butler's the only guy LA really could use, but Vlade and Devean are virtually cap killers at this point in their career. Why would Utah do this though? They don't exactly have a SF/SG shortage...

Sun Feb 20, 2005 8:42 pm

I think that Vlade won't leave LA.That's he said at least...

Sun Feb 20, 2005 9:28 pm

Vlade doesn't really have much of a say. He can accept the trade and try to have his contract bought out, or retire basically.

Sun Feb 20, 2005 10:52 pm

if the trade is true.. at least i got it correct... damn, does Caron have to go??? (N)
