Man... bad move by the T-wolves... at least the Lakers can look at him as a possible replacement for Rudy T.... Wonder how he would handle Kobe...

He's having a hard time handling Sprewell. I don't know what that means but maybe he can't handle high ego type players. Because his system is very complicated.

I want to see KG without Flip and Flip without KG, they seemed like they would be together forever. How will Flip's system work without "Ticket" and how will KG play without Flip?

I don't think Flip will coach again this year, he has two daughters in school and he's been here for ever. It must be hard for him to pick up in move, especially in the middle of a school year. I think he'll be within the Timberwolves organzation for the rest of the year then leave in the off-season to some team like the Knicks, Lakers or something.

That's because Garnett, according to sources, probably shouldn't even be playing these days. In what can't be a surprise to anyone, he has been playing on a seriously sore knee without complaining to anyone … or even talking about it. It's unclear if he's even well enough physically to be last season's KG -- the league's MVP, remember -- and anchor a second-half rally for a team that's worn down and getting almost nothing inside.

Now that is extremely alarming. I knew he was worn down but I didn't think he was hurt that bad. I've seen him holding his knee or limping but he normally just kind of walks it off or something.

I guess it was inevitable - it just took slipping below .500. I'm surprised to see Kevin McHale step into the role rather than an assistant or an out of work former head coach looking to get back on the sidelines. As far as I know, he doesn't have much (if any) coaching experience and while he was a great player, that doesn't always translate.

i guess he wants to see if he should really move spreewell and cassell or not since it's a tough decision since they reached so close last year with the same squad basically.

Once you have knee problems, you might as well call it quits or someone quits. You won't be the same player you were before because your knee has alot to do with the game of basketball (of course).

They were talking about that on the local news and the local radio stations today and yesterday. They think McHale is stepping in for the rest of the season then Randy Wittman (top assistant) will take over next year. The reason why Wittman (or Sidney Lowe) isn't taking over now is because if he does and this freefall still happens and the team doesn't produce it would be hard for McHale to bring him back. Hard to say on a computer but do you get what I'm saying?

Musselman and Flip are very close and I actually wanted him to be on the coaching staff this year but he wasn't. I wouldn't mind Musselman if he is as good as his dad

Maybe the Lakers or Knicks can get Flip now.

Hopefully the lakers wont bother...Flip is not a bad coach but he isnt a great coach, i cant see him doing a better job than Rudy T. If he becomes our coach we'd be stuck in the 1st round of the playoffs for almost a decade(See:T-wolves).... (N)

laker fans need to get used to the first round anyway. dont blame rudy t or anyone else, this team at best is a first round team. besides the management would have to ask kobe if it would be ok to interview flip.

Don't worry, Memphis is keeping him  The fans and Fratello love him as an assistant.

i thought flip got a position in the wolves management or something. or if my sources just suck. anyways im no wolves fan but for those who love KG must be a lot of question to how Mchale will nurture the team. my guess a second round exit for them.

It's easier said than done when you say trade Sprewell and Cassell.
