2 threads about this!

it must be true!

Sun Feb 13, 2005 12:34 pm

Oh man!!! U beat me to it! :?

Sun Feb 13, 2005 12:35 pm

Wow!

17-36 FG | 2-5 3PT | 24-27 FT | 6 assists | 6 steals | 1 block

Sun Feb 13, 2005 12:36 pm

17-36...

he took 36 shots!

lots of guys could score 60 if they took 36 friggin shots.

Sun Feb 13, 2005 12:37 pm

He's gonna average 30 Points a Game now!

Sun Feb 13, 2005 12:41 pm

He shot 47%. If other guys tried to do it they could run out of gas and end up shooting in the 30's or whatever.

Much more than that, actually: Plus 27 free throw attempts!

Well, he pulled in a win, so I guess that's ok.

steve francis was trying to match iverson performance. if he wouldve took more shots, he may have gotten 60

10-20 FG, 32pts, 13rebs, 8asts, 11-12 FT

Sun Feb 13, 2005 12:56 pm

Another reason why Stevie should've been an All Star (plus a handful of other players too :| )

Sun Feb 13, 2005 12:57 pm

And 27 FTA's

Sun Feb 13, 2005 12:59 pm

Is this Iverson's best season?

Are you joking, yea if other guys shot 47%, and also got to the line 27 times making 24 of them, yea of course they'd score 60

It's funny though that many said he wasn't a top 20 player anymore, I know I felt he wasn't a top 10 player anymore after last season, but he's defintely making a case for himself.

Injuries sure can do a lot of things:

Iverson not a top 20 player anymore
Grant Hill will be at most a role player coming back [though his was more justified]
Webber won't be able to produce anymore
Jason Kidd won't be able to maintain the high level and be able to carry a team

.... I guess it's Jamal "I'm basically retired" Mashburn's turn to show everyone

Iverson is getting close to averaging 30 points and 8 assists, and if he can do that and get Philly over .500, he can be an MVP candidate.

Nope, Iverson's best season was in the 2000-2001 season when he led his team to the NBA Finals and averaged 31.1ppg, 4.6apg and 3.8rpg. This year his assist and rebounding numbers are up, but I would consider his best year when he led his team to the Finals and he averaged 31.1ppg. But this still could possibly be his best season if he can lead the Sixers to the playoffs and make some noise along with him averaging 30, 8 and 5.

Sun Feb 13, 2005 1:17 pm

Didn't he win MVP in 00-01?

Sun Feb 13, 2005 1:25 pm

yes he did....

AI was MVP! nice work by him!

Sun Feb 13, 2005 1:27 pm

Wow, I am impressed by Iverson shooting 47%.....I am not surprised by his 37 shots though because he does shoot a lot.

Oh well, gratz to Iverson for scoring 60 points in a game....

Sun Feb 13, 2005 1:34 pm

That's the key to that crazy score. Several players could score 50+ with 36 FG attempted...
