Jan 12 The Nets and Hornets have begun discussions about a possible trade for disgruntled New Orleans' forward Jim Jackson. Nets' president Rod Thorn contacted the Hornets on Tuesday, when the team learned that guard/forward Richard Jefferson would need wrist surgery and miss the rest of the season. "Jimmy can definitely help, because he's a very versatile player," guard Jason Kidd told the Newark Star-Ledger.
Views: Kidd and Jackson played two-plus seasons together with the Mavericks back in 1995-97, so Jason would have a pretty good idea about what Jim could bring to the table. Without Jefferson and Ron Mercer, the Nets badly need help at the swing positions, and we also believe Jackson would be a nice addition. We'll let you know if the talks heat up.

Sounds interesting, I wonder what NO would want for him...

prolly a second round pick would equal a successful deal for them.

He needs to stop whining right now and play for Hornets until he does get traded.

C- Maglorie
PF- Draft pick
SF-Mashburn
SG- Carter
PG- Davis
anyway would this be a new team for JJ that he hasn't played for?
Fri Jan 14, 2005 3:48 am
hey it'll be......
C - Magloire
PF - Brown
SF - Carter
SG - Smith
PG - Davis
not silly ol' mash

It'll be a big help for the Nets if they can both forget about Toni Braxton.

Poor Jimmy. This is, what, his 23rd team?

Wouldn't that be a better situation, I mean they do suck, but their future would be brighter, think about it, with Baorn healthy again, then Magloire coming back, then them probably getting the #1 overall pick.
Next year:
PG - Baron | Chris Paul?
SG - JR Smith | Someone
SF - Vince | Rogers
PF - PJ Brown | West
C - Magloire | Andre Bogut? | Andersen
New Jersey will be good next year too, but the Hornets would be good too, and have more pieces. They could even trade Magloire and get some nice pieces because a center will get you players, and with them acquiring 7'0 Andrew Bogut, they have a great prospect at center. An Aussie going first? I know a lot of guys on the site would like that.

Who would New Jersey trade for him? They have 3 good players. The rest are scrubs.

What irony. Remember back in the day, with Jason Kidd, Jimmy Jackson and Mashburn the heat between JJ and Kidd?
Fri Jan 14, 2005 7:43 am
Haha yea I was talking about that with my bro

They're trying to use trade exceptions, at least they were for Cliff, I don't know in JJ's case.
