Everyone got excited by the big three in New Jersey saying with Kidd and all they'll make a push, but they haven't been having any success. When you watch games, all you see is Jefferson clanging and bricking shots, you look at the boxscores, where Kidd and Carter have good games, but you see Jefferson shooting about 33% or worse each game.
The past 8 games, he's shot 33% FG [47/141], averaged 18.4 points, and committed 3 turnovers a game, in addition to 6.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists.
Then you realize he's had a wrist injury on his shooting hand, his knee is hurt, and he's also been sick for a few of the games. He's supposed to now be going for wrist surgery, and won't be back for the rest of the season.

time to start thinking of that lottery pick

Good news for Carter. He's on a team that's worse than the Raptors.

BWHAHAHA...sure is. Maybe now he'll stop trying again.

It would be comical if they traded away Jason Kidd. Who will Vince Carter have left?

Fuck!
He's on my fantasy team, and I just traded Jamison... God damnit..

Meh, they're still part of the worst division in the NBA. Getting a third seed really isn't out of reach. Anything can happen in the East.
Wed Jan 12, 2005 8:22 am
The Nets have no productive bench players.
Wed Jan 12, 2005 8:27 am
And they have no big men...they traded them away for Carter. There's no way the nets make the playoffs, even in the weak east.
I had Jefferson on my fantasy team too...i took a big hit, but Im trying to trade him before anyone finds out about it.

^
krstic is a pretty talented offensive player. he just has david harrison-itis on defense
tough break for the nets. maybe jason kidd gets traded this year after all
Wed Jan 12, 2005 9:55 am
I don't see how this year could get any worse...
I was hoping to see Jefferson go to the All-Star game this year. I didn't really care if the Nets made the playoffs this year, I was hoping Jefferson would turn himself into one of the best in the league.
I'm really hoping Kidd steps up his scoring more than Carter, because we all know Carter can score, but Kidd has been struggling. Although the past few games he has been playing really well.
Best wishes to Jefferson with the surgery, hope it goes well.
Wed Jan 12, 2005 10:32 am
Maybe they'll fix Jeffersons Turnoveritis with the surgery.
Wed Jan 12, 2005 12:00 pm
The Raptors made a big playoff push when Carter was injured a couple years ago, so who knows, with Kidd back, things might go well with the Nets... or not.
It was good to see that Jefferson had class by commenting on the injury relating to the Billups foul.

LMAO! You lost Jefferson AND Iverson on the same day, I've never met anyone in my entire life who has less fantasy luck than you
Wed Jan 12, 2005 2:22 pm
damn, haha, i bet Raptors fans are loving this.....Vince is in a worse situation now than he was at Raptors. Hey if Nets get a high pick they might get that Bogut kid.
Wed Jan 12, 2005 3:18 pm
If they get a high pick, or after they get a high pick

Were you in any NFL pools? Did you by chance take Priest Holmes? Maybe David Boston? Clinton Portis?
Wed Jan 12, 2005 3:28 pm
Just Ricky Williams.. nah Air Gordon (nick) tried to get a nfl fantasy league up here but nobody wanted to join..

I think there's a rule somewhere that states only Portland are allowed high draft picks.
Wed Jan 12, 2005 6:49 pm
it couldnt get any worse, or can it?....now the Nets have one of the deadliest NBA trio's but also at the same time the most injury prone trio.....bad luck for them, looks like the Nets will see a season similar to that of the Starbury-KVH-Kittles era, at least in terms of losses.

Najira wrote:now the Nets have one of the deadliest NBA trio's
i think that's a bit of an over statement right there. Theres no way that trio is one of the deadliest....replace Carter with Martin and i'll agree.
Wed Jan 12, 2005 9:21 pm
Bah, Bad news for the nets.Jefferson was solid, not in few last games but career season was in the making. Now it's on Carter and Kidd's shoulder
Wed Jan 12, 2005 9:47 pm
Jefferson was solid
Unlike your posting habbits...
Wed Jan 12, 2005 10:53 pm
Ouch! Maybe the combination of playing in the Olympics, playing so much in the early season and having so much pressure on himself is what caused Jefferson to be more injury prone.

Or maybe he landed on his wrist that was already injured that caused him to be "injury prone"
