Does anyone know what the Pirates' cheerleading squad is called these days? Back in the days of the Falcons, they were the "Feathers". Perhaps with the new pirates theme, they could be the "Wenches" or "Strumpets".

Thu Dec 09, 2004 7:36 pm

Lol the Wenches, I'm sure they'd love that. The only names people really call Newcastle based cheerleaders are "bitch" or the affectionate "show us your tits!"

It would be interesting to know the name of the pirates cheerleaders but there is a possiblity they could be like the bullets cheerleaders who are named the roulettes by their main sponser the treasury casino.

I'm trying to find out news on a press conference the bullets have called for tomorrow.

Well my guess was right Freeman's been released was a shame I wanted to see him in dunk comp before he left.

Fri Dec 10, 2004 7:29 pm

Brissie lost an All-star and MVP candidate.... i wonder who their gonna get to replace him? Do u know Dragon?

Fri Dec 10, 2004 7:47 pm

So far just a development player....but are gonna look around do some shopping there has been speculation about the former wildcats player that was dropped recently. But so far since the decision was just made they hadn't had times for options/replacements. It is a shame about freeman though he had the potential as joey wright has said he just didn't apply himself especially defensively and banged on injuries a little longer. I would have liked to see him play till all star weekend though.

Fri Dec 10, 2004 8:30 pm

reakon they can get Ron ROn?? :) lol

Fri Dec 10, 2004 8:50 pm

hahaha arteazy I don't think the league could afford him or his liability damage costs.

Yes, that is a great Newcastle tradition, especially shouting things at people walking between clubs as you drive past them; but only if you're part of the bogan contingent. It's a rare trip into town when you don't hear "Show us your tits!" (if girlfriends are part of the entourage) or "Heyyouguysareabunchofcuntsaaaayyyyy!" trailing off into the distance (if it's just the blokes).

Life after Freeman ain't so bad. the bullets got off to a commanding start and were only threatened a few times by the hawks. has anyone noticed that mike kelly shoots like an Orangutan when shooting free throws.

I also know of the new import but can't say.

Sun Dec 12, 2004 10:16 pm

Bullets played good team ball... i was talkin to some guy in the bathroom at halftime... lol (dont ask but it wasnt sus or me being homo...) i was told it was one of the better games. Great ball movement by brissie!

We were up by twenty on two occasions but Hawks managed to bring the margin back down to single digits before Brissie took a 20 ponit lead in the 4th and kept it there! Simon Kearle had 4 threes in a row in second quarter and finished on 29 with 7 3's!

Nice work by Brissie... firsty game ive been to and it was great!

Sun Dec 12, 2004 10:37 pm

yeah it was a good good and honestly was 1 of the best games watched this season. i was surprised that we held the hawks to only 4 pts in the 2nd quarter. I was talking to the 2 people next to me a little bit about Jason Eversteyn how the Bullets are building this guy up he has the rebounding ability and shot blocking ability but how they want to turn him into more of a defensive player though. I did find it funny how they played the addams family theme song tonight when he was on the court in reference to lyrch the butler. I managed to catch up with someone i have worked with andre moore tonight too and saw simon black the brisbane lions player there at the game as well as shane heal leroy loggins and matty rogers i think it was it was almost like a lakers celeb packed game.

I also know of the new import but can't say.

Mon Dec 13, 2004 8:28 pm

Hey Dragon, where were Matty, Leroy and Shane seated? Me and my friends wanted to know but we didnt know where to go.... lol

Man, there were those two benchwarmers who went on at the end. Everstein is cool, hes like our Shaq but not as fat. But hes 7'2" and cant shoot free throws! :) And then theres that other guy. Black guy, i was told he's 6'4" and got hops! Are they both uber-development players or what?

Yeah, I'm prob gonna go see Brissie play the Kings at home on Saturday... and wtf is with that band that plays at H/T??? They freakin suck... they need a new lead vocalist!

Wed Dec 15, 2004 1:40 pm

hahahahahahahahaha you loved the high school band too i know i dunno what is up with that they got to sing at half time the game b4 the hawks 1 and on sunday they sang at both half time and fulltime.....we are trying to get my friend to peform his song during halftime hopefully we'll get that deal the music guys suck at the games too he might be replaced within next year or 2 as well. was the other bench guy named pearce you are talking about or peni.

Thu Dec 16, 2004 9:40 am

I think it was Peni.... last name starts with N.... he's got hops! We want him on the court more but if he steals too much of Everstein's minute (prob doesnt cause they play different positions) then id rather see the big guy play!

Thu Dec 16, 2004 11:47 am

they will probably get more time next season this year is just to build them up i know peni has been on the bench for a few seasons now but i'm sure he will get his time very soon.

Thu Dec 16, 2004 12:13 pm

Yeah, i suppose so, but we want Peni on cause he duinked during practise! And my friend who's an AFL bloke was laughing at Eversytein cause he was trying to shoot jumpers and after he missed a few strated dunking and my friend ragged him saying, "YeaH, ur so tall of course u can do that... dfo something else.." The way he said it we were all laughing...

And did u see the fat guy who kept trying to make the guy at the free throw line miss in last quarter? Is he a regular at games?

Thu Dec 16, 2004 12:35 pm

the 1 who taunted pearce or another player ?

Bullets vs Kin\gs

The game last night was a great game Bryant matthews 28pts and 9 rebounds in debut game....not bad for someone not fit at the moment. The Kings did take it to Matthews hard with alot of body contact. People have already critisied his free throws but at half time he was 7/10 attempts. I do give the Kings credit for the win but did they havve to put a hole in a sponsers dorna yellow cabs must be pissed.

I can't wait to see how Matthews settles in over the next few weeks be interesting to see if he could become a 30-35ppg player.

Sun Dec 19, 2004 7:41 pm

Man, go Bryant! :) I convinced my lil bro that it was kobe who joined the bullets cause article was titled 'Bullets give Bryant a SHot' lol but i couldnt take him to the game because of work. Dragon, give us the info on his play, how good is he? entertaining?

good 3 or 4 man? u reakon he can become the leader of the team by next season?

Sun Dec 19, 2004 9:18 pm

if he does what he did at virginia tech then yeah he can become a leader of a team here unless he does get into the nba.

Thu Dec 23, 2004 1:08 am

tonite/yesterdays game was interesting was close intense and entertaining to watch i had my uncle up from melbourne watching the game with me and my friend the delegatz producer/rapper. Was definetly a good game to wtch just glad the bullets won it.

Thu Jan 06, 2005 4:04 pm

Saw last nights game... and met Bryant Matthews... hey Dragon, does he usually talk much or is he real quiet... it seemed he didnt wanna talk cause he played bad yesterday... 3 ponits and 4 fouls...

Yeah, lost by 3.. great game though. Better win back to back gainst Hawks though!
