Pacers:

Being from Canada I never really had a home team to go for untill the Raptors came (never liked them and i still dont) and everyone around here was a bandwagon bulls/jordan fan so being the rebel I am I chose to go with the one guy who wasn't afraid of Jordan and the Bulls. I always admired how Reggie played during the mid 90's and how every game he played in turned into a espn classic. Still a fan today and will be till the day I die.

Dallas Mavericks:

Started playing with them back in 96 in Live, they didnt have an awesome team back then but i still found them very stable. Through the years they have progressed very well. and with the additions of Steve Nash (although he is now gone) and the adition of my favorite player Dirk Nowitzki, theyre playoff material right now. I Love em

They've been playoff material for the past 5 years now, dude.

It seems like pretty much everyone likes their favorite team based on hometown connection. You are exposed to that as a kid and you get...um, what's the word I'm looking for....you get grown up? in a situation like that.

no they really havent look at their records since 95/96

1998-99    19 - 31 .380    5 (18 GB)
1997-98    20 - 62 .244    5 (42 GB)
1996-97    24 - 58 .293    4 (40 GB)
1995-96    26 - 56 .317    5 (33 GB)

i dont think 10 Games+ Back is playoff material
and then after that, they picked it up, 3rd place, 2nd place, 1st place, and 3rd place again last year.

Bulls.

I was born in Chicago, and my dad was a Bulls, Cubs and Bears fan. I, as a toddler, would see the Jordan-less Bulls do so-so and wonder why he liked them so much.

Then I watched the live telecast of Jordan announcing his return. I got chills watching it, and knew, young as I was then, that great things were going to happen.

Never was basketball the same again for me.

i hate to argue.......but you just proved riot's point. he said they've been playoff material the past 5 years. and then you said "no- they've only been good the last 5 years" no offense here, i think you just misunderstood :D

I wanted to be different.

I didnt wanna follow the Bulls or the Hornets or the Magic etc (as these teams were marketed heavily during the basketball craze here in Australia)

So I started following the Blazers.

I been a huge heat fan since they had Sasha Danilovic and Tim Hardaway. Hardaway of course was and still is my favorite player. Garnett is my favorite active player and i started liking the wolves last year as a team cause they finally had some help around him. My team will still always be the heat especially since we have a chance to make it to the promise land this year. Oh yea and since im from the CHI i cannt say that i wasnt a big bulls fan cause we all loved them bulls.

I like crappy teams.....

Everyteam I've liked I started liking them in a lottery year, I guess it's just how it is.

In Order

Raptors - They are the Canadian team

Clippers - Since Elton Brand joined them, he was really the only reason at first, but then I started liking them more, wasn't a Bulls fan because of him though.

Wizards - I don't know, I didn't start liking them because of the MJ craze, but it was just to add to the pile of lottery teams, then MJ came then Arenas who was I guy I liked since he was a rookie so he helped in that.

I like the Suns because of Marion, but I wouldn't consider myself a "fan" of the team, just cheer for them as long as they aren't playing any of those other teams, but Marion is the man best SF in the league baby [well he's playing PF right now but who cares].

So basically I've lived a basketball life of a lot of losing and lottery season, I can tell you I know a lot about the prospects coming in every year

Nuggets - Simply because my fav player Andre Miller is on their lineup...I bandwagon any team hes on although MC is one of my fav big men of all time(prolly like no.6) and I really like Melo however much I critize and get annoyed with his off court antics(kinda like a Rodman relationship some ppl have).

You mean you were a Clippers fan

D-D-D-D-D-etroit!!!!!!!

Liked em with JD and GH33 around and then started to really like them when once they seriously whooped the MJ Bulls.....and here I am....just one bad losing season and a championship!

I haven't been following the NBA for that long, I think around 5/6 years now. When Spree came to New York, I started playing basketball myself too. Then I went to Foot Locker and saw all these NBA jerseys and the Spree NY one definately looked the best. It had my favorite number 8 and I liked the colors too. I immediately started searching for info on Sprewell and found some vids of him dunking. He's been my favorite player ever since and New York has been my favorite team.
My room has pictures and posters and other stuff of Sprewell and the Knicks all over the place.

Right now I really like Marbury, Crawford and Ariza and also Sprewell even though he's gone. Right now they don't sell NBA jerseys here but I'm looking to get a Crawford one of the internet ($$$ )

The Utah Jazz are a nice team too, they have the most white players in the NBA (I think) and they're still playing good ball, white men CAN jump (and play).

Detroit Pistons - hometown team. I live 15 minutes from the Palace, and I've been to tons of games there (including the infamous triple OT vs the Nets in the playoffs last year ;) ) I have numerous autographs from the original Bad Boys era, including one poster with 9 or 10 of their autographs on it.

Phoenix Suns - I've liked the Suns ever since the first time I saw Amare Stoudemire play in a game. In NBA Live, I would start a franchise/fantasy draft and build around him specifically. This year I like the Suns even more, as Shawn Marion and Steve Nash are heavily contributing to my fantasy team, and they are now the team I use when I play Live '05 with my buddies (we always used to argue about who gets to be Detroit, but now I let them ;))

Sun Dec 19, 2004 6:11 am

Suns baby!

I always liked the team with guys like Kevin Johnson, Rex Chapman, and even when Penny came. Throughout those years they were a top 5 team of mine. Then Marbury came and I was addicted. Marbury had been my favourite player since the T-Wolves, I still have the super-small black Marbury T-Wolves jersey. I loved them all through last year, even after going crazy at the trade of Marbury. I kept wearing my Suns jersey (alternate Marbury) and various t-shirts, and people kept telling me they sucked. And now what. SUNS RULE!!!!

Sun Dec 19, 2004 6:17 am

San antonio Spurs - Mainly because of Tim and Parker. aND i like their game much.
And i liked Nets with K-Mart. Highlight reel to happen baby. And now when vince is in the team kidd-carter-jefferson-yeah baby. Dunks waiting to happen. :)
