Christmas Day Games - Which one is bigger?

Tue Nov 23, 2004 8:43 am

Pistons vs Pacers - The rematch between the two teams.

Lakers vs Heat - Kobe goes against Shaq.

Tue Nov 23, 2004 8:51 am

Kobe vs. Shaq easily.
Artest, Jax and JO won't play in the game, and its not in Detroit.

Tue Nov 23, 2004 8:53 am

Not really a rematch since Artest, ONeal and Jackson wont even play the game. Imagine if the Pacers scrubs will fight on christmas day

Shaq vs Kobe by far.

Tue Nov 23, 2004 8:58 am

lakers vs heat.

Tue Nov 23, 2004 9:11 am

If Artest, O'Neal and Jackson were playing. Then I would definetely say the Pacers v Pistons game, but since there not its definetely Kobe Vs Shaq :D

Tue Nov 23, 2004 11:31 am

**Sorry forget the latest Piston/Pacer vote..ment to hit Laker/Heat**

MAYBE it'd be Pacer/Piston..for the FANS loll

but tis gunna be Laker/Heat easily....

Tue Nov 23, 2004 2:10 pm

Agreed with the rest

Lakers v.s. Heat :)

Tue Nov 23, 2004 3:52 pm

Pistons and Pacers doesn't mean anything anymore with no one there

Tue Nov 23, 2004 4:55 pm

It will be very interesting to se if the Pacers throw a beer on Ben Wallace. I wonder if David Stern has the balls to show up for this game..

Even with all the years of the Shaq/Kobe saga, the Pistons/Pacers incident makes this established rivalry much more heated. But with Jermaine O'Neal, Ron Artest and Stephen Jackson sidelined it's not much of a grudge match. In contrast, it will be the first time Shaq and Kobe meet as opponents and the first argument will be made for each side of the Shaq vs Kobe debate. I'd have to say that Heat/Lakers will be more interesting than Pistons/Pacers for me too.

Wed Nov 24, 2004 11:30 am

Shaq v Kobe has been hyped up since before the schedule was made. There isnt any rivalry as such.. just a hate which exists between the two players. I dont think its a rivalry cause the guys dont even matchup against eachother and all they're doing is having a war of words... a rivalry does exist for Pistons/Pacers cause they're actually competing for somethnig.. u know wat i mean?

Pistons and Pacers will be fresh in the minds of fans and ppl around the league. It has great potential for their 'rivalry' to be exploited in the media. Which makes money for the NBA.

But in the end, Shaq and Kobe will be bigger... they will only meet twice this season... Pistons and pacers meet for a minimum 8 games!

Miami vs Lakers will be a monster like monster Mihm. Shaq and EJ vs their arch nemisis Kobe.

does ej dislike kobe too?

Wed Nov 24, 2004 11:46 am

hell yeah EJ hates Kobe thats why he wanted to be traded and went to Charlotte before heading to Miami.

Wed Nov 24, 2004 11:48 am

Eddie Jones and Kobe are actually good friends. EJ has been quoted saying that alot when he was traded to the hornets...

Wed Nov 24, 2004 11:51 am

EJ left to Charlotte because of Shaq.. or was it both of them?

Wed Nov 24, 2004 11:52 am

hmm seems odd as to why he would have wanted to be traded and as to what shaq has mentioned.

Wed Nov 24, 2004 11:55 am

Before Shaq arrived in Miami EJ was hoping that theyd be able to settle their differences and did admit to not liking Shaq before.. it seems that theyre not clashing...

Wed Nov 24, 2004 11:59 am

I thought he left coz of both but mainly kobe. I know ej didn't like shaqs attitude in laker days but they have working it out and it showed the otherday when before the game shaq used a different approach to inform ej "he needed him to step up today".

Wed Nov 24, 2004 12:01 pm

u sure it was mainly Kobe? I guess the truth never gets out in full!

Wed Nov 24, 2004 12:02 pm

Eddie Jones never requested to be traded. The Lakers realised that with Kobe on the court, Eddie wasn't playing well and they traded him for Glen Rice, who could spread the defense becuase of his shooting. Kobe and EJ have always been good friends from what I've heard from both players.

Wed Nov 24, 2004 12:09 pm

they should have kept him.. hey how did NVE leave LA? was he traded for AC Green?

Wed Nov 24, 2004 12:28 pm

Lakers vs Heat

Although it will be very interesting to see how the Pacers fans react on that day. Another brawl anyone?

Wed Nov 24, 2004 12:38 pm

Nick Van Exel was traded for Tony Battie just before the lockout to denver, then Battie was traded for Travis Knight..

Wed Nov 24, 2004 12:51 pm

Thats crap!
