Suspensions

Postby Ataraxia on Mon Nov 22, 2004 1:52 am

shit those r some huge suspensions.....

they say Artest 30 to whole season, J.O 10 to 20 and Stephen J the same......Ben Wallace 5 to 10.....

man if Artest gets whole season he'll have the longest suspension....yes he'll even beat Spree's choking suspension...

Ron Artest will be suspended by the NBA for 30 games according to a report on Fox Sports Radio. Jermaine O'Neal and Stephen Jackson of the Pacers will also be out of action for 20 games each while Pistons star Ben Wallace will miss five games for their roles in the fight in Detroit Friday night.

Fred McLeod, pbp voice of the Pistons on FSN Detroit, reported on the suspensions during a live radio interview on GameTime react with Ben Maller and Chris Landry on Fox Sports Radio Saturday night.

I was expecting something like that.
Im curious to know what was the longest suspension a player ever had?
And are the team management going to pay something? Or they could also ask that Detroit doesn't play with any fans for some time for their behaviour, that happens in other sports.

Latrell Sprewell for choking his coach, he got a 68 games suspension.

what worries me is the Pacers have only 6 players to play with....still with 6 players they just fell 2 pts short of the Magic .....thats weird and disturbing

At the beginning of december 1997... or end of November? First, he was suspended by the NBA for 82 games, after an appeal it was shortened for the reminder of the season - 68 games. As I was (I'm still :) ) a big Sprewell-Fan, it was very hard. Because he could'nt play until the lockout of 98/99 ended in January 99.

The Warriors also terminated his contract, but an appeal from the Player's Association overturned that decision. Spree was of course dealt to the Knicks in the brief active offseason prior to the 98/99 season.

Converse terminated their contract, too :) And I had buyed his sneakers in '96... which meant serious morally trouble to me, wearing those thug-shoes :(
