76ers score 6 points in quarter

Fri Nov 19, 2004 6:02 pm

The Sixers had the nation watching on Thursday night against the San Antonio Spurs and they came out of the gates and scored just six points in the first quarter.

I believe so. The Mavericks also scored just 2 points in the third quarter of a game against the Magic in 1997 (I remember watching that game, it was truly ugly). I believe the record before that was held by the Kings, who were thumped 29-4 by the Lakers in the first quarter of a game during the 80s.

I'm pretty sure that was a game against the Raptors.

how about NEVER. he wants to be a Sixer for life.

btw 6 points in quarter...thats not funny, not at all :?

Hehe, he can want to be a Sixer for life but it's very possible that the Sixers don't want him to be a Sixer for life.

The feeling has to be mutual.

The 76ers have one of the worst supporting casts in the league. It's only Iverson who is capable of scoring big each game.

Sun Nov 21, 2004 8:01 am

can't really blame it ALL on the sixers.. the spurs have a good defensive system going as well

Sun Nov 21, 2004 8:16 am

Iverson made his bed, chasing away all his help with his selfishness...and now he has to lie in it.

Sun Nov 21, 2004 8:01 pm

You idiot, Iverson never ran any player out of town. It's not his fault if team management decideds they want to trade Larry Hughes for Toni Kukoc, or KVH for Glenn Robinson..

I agree with some of you, Iverson turned 76ers ito a loosing team. To me he just seems so misrable! Has anyone watched "The Life"? or his DVD?
No matter where i see him he is just not the type of player who i would play with! Watch his games, everytime he makes a good pass and his teammates dont convert it or catch it his expression puts you off. Other players make mistakes but they know what AI will not let them play through that!

All of the secondary scorers he had are great players, plus the players he has now are awasome, he is just not the Leader kinda of player. Thats why no FA realy wants to be on that team, and that why they are loosing. They had just about every great player or coach, yet still Iverson finds ways to get rid of them.

He does not encourage others to excel, just feel bad after a bad shot or pass. He must change his game or the sixer will loose until he's retired!

Wasn't Iverson a first round pick? And a couple years later...he leads the team to the NBA Finals...loosing team  .

Then don't play with him. Go play with Nash or something :P
He's not always like that, but it can be very frustating when they're not making shots.

All of the secondary scorers he had are great players
Stackhouse? Van Horn? Hughes? Kukoc? Robinson?

plus the players he has now are awasome
 The Sixers are my favorite team, the players are young and have potential, but saying that they're awesome is a little too much.

he is just not the Leader kinda of player.

And why he got unamously (sp?) selected co-captain of Team USA?

They had just about every great player or coach, yet still Iverson finds ways to get rid of them.

So Iverson's the GM? That's crap, he doesn't make the decisions. The GM and front office does. They've been trying to find a team like the one who got to the Finals. Players who know they role in the team. Mostly defenders, but capable of scoring when needed.

(It's been a long time since I posted here.)
