Robinson signed by Knicks

Fri Nov 12, 2004 6:06 pm

Isiah Thomas flew to his hometown of Chicago yesterday to bring back another athletic former Bull.

According to his agent, 6-9 free agent swingman Eddie Robinson agreed to terms yesterday with the Knicks on a one-year deal, pending the results of his physical on Friday morning.

Robinson is expected to sign today in New York and be in uniform tonight when the Knicks host the Clippers at the Garden to conclude a dizzying week of events.

Should be a useful pickup, if he works hard he could take the starting spot from Thomas, whos been dismal this year to say the least.

He better not take any playing time away from Trevor Ariza :x

Just because I can freakin say it.Aight

Just what the Knicks need - another "me first" guy who has had 30 good games in the league.
I wish I knew what's going on in Isiah's head - sometimes you can't help but think that he has no clue at all.

Should be another long season for us Knicks fans (unfortunately, I don't mean that I see the Knicks playing in June)...

"eddie robinson" and "works hard" do not belong in the same sentence. ever. year after year, this chump came into camp out of shape and ge injured. then when he was healthy, after team practices and before games, the entire team would put in extra time to work on whatever. e-rob doesn't because he doesn't want to ruin his 'ritual'.

yes, this guy can ball. don't be asking for hard work though. i wish the worst for him, except for when he's receiving a pass from crawford on the break so crawford gets the assist.

he'll probably ending up doing well like many other former bulls. enjoy him, nyk

Sat Nov 13, 2004 9:56 am

he might be inspired and want to prove the bulls they made the wrong decision.
guess he will replace Shandon Anderson who the Knicks released ( 3yr 24mill left too!!)

Sat Nov 13, 2004 10:17 am

I heard that he wont be signed because he failed his physical

Sat Nov 13, 2004 12:02 pm

fckin loser, how do you fail a physical? you too afraid to show your small balls?

he had no balls, always naggin' about injuries and how "he's trying hard"

i hate this guy! new york can kiss my ass because they've just given me more reason to hate them

The clippers are a competitive team these days, don't be surprised if they kick the 'bockers out of the knickers

It may have been through a buyout rather than the expansion draft, but at least E-Rob's causing headaches for a team other than the Bulls. If he'll ever be in a condition to latch on with another team, that is.

NEW YORK -- Free-agent forward Eddie Robinson failed a physical Friday with the New York Knicks, who were set to sign him to a $1.3 million contract for the remainder of this season.

Robinson, who has a bone growth disorder in his toe, has decided to undergo surgery that will sideline him from six weeks to three months.

Robinson agreed to a buyout with the Chicago Bulls earlier this month, receiving $10.5 million of the $13.2 million he was due over the next two seasons.

"He's already getting paid for the next year and a half, so we decided to go ahead and get the surgery done," agent James Bryant said.

The Knicks, who bought out Shandon Anderson's contract earlier this week, had only 11 players in uniform for Friday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Allan Houston, Bruno Sundov and Jamison Brewer are eligible to be activated from the injured list after Saturday night's game at Indiana. Houston has not played this season while recovering from chronic post-surgical knee soreness, and there is no timetable for his return.

"There's no new news," coach Lenny Wilkens said.

might be the bone growth disorder

might be the bone growth disorder

Must be the new medical term for laziness.

The key things i read there was he is getting paid for the year, so he is gonna take the year off :|

Limp wasn't joking about this fuckers attitude. I was half happy that the Knicks signed him for cheap, but now im happier he failed the physical becuase he has shown what a whinger he is. Lets just hope Tim Thomas starts to produce.

Sun Nov 14, 2004 9:20 pm

haha, he failed the physical....

Maybe the Clipps should add this guy.....he fits into Donald Sterlings lose at all costs mentality
