Ron can't rap; he's full of crap

I'm sure that you've heard now that he's got benched for 2 games but you're probably curious of all the specifics. The link above is about Carlisle benching him for 2 games, but he has come up with the stupidest excuse ever.

I just saw it at half time of the Cavs-Phx game and I'll find a link later but his reason was that he is trying to promote his rap album.  It drops November 23 and we'll more than likely be trash. He said that he wore himself out physically but now he's mentally wore out. He said that he plans to sit out at least a month or two. What is wrong with this guy? He's played 3 games and is worn out?! He just had 4 months off! As they said on ESPN, he didn't play in the Olympics so he can't use that as an excuse.

well no matter what, the excuse for asking time off is pretty retarded.. he should've started producing his rap album right after his team got eliminated from last year's playoffs or what not.. but yea, he's pretty much fuckin over the integrity of the team.

i believe him though when he says he's physically/mentally exhausted.. i mean it's ron artest we're talking about here, DPOY .. this guy's a workhorse, i mean he came back from a broken hand after a week last season, when he was supposed to come back after a month or so.

I don't know what to believe really. The game before his suspension he had quite an outburst with the coaching in the bulls game. I'm pretty sure he was mad cause he wasnt getting enough touches. It all started there from my point of view because the coaches told him to go to the locker room during the game due to his behaviour. So who really knows the truth?

For a guy whos makin millions, he was the defensive player of the year and a guy who plays with a ton of passion and heart doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would ask for days off during the season especially when his team is so banged up. Sounds kind of crazy too me but then again a lot of people believe Ron has some mental problems and the Bulls stated one of the reasons they traded him was because he wasnt taking his medication.

All I know is Isiah Thomas never laid down the law with Ron so atleast Rick has some balls and wont put up with his shit just because hes a star.

Maybe that number 91 is going to his head.

Link

"My body has been aching, I was going to take some time off and I said it the wrong way," Artest said. "Everything that happened wasn't too negative. I kind of surprised the team by wanting to take some games off, just to get back together, maybe stay home for a little bit, rest a little bit and come back."

The 24-year-old is scheduled to release his debut rap album later this month and has been spending a lot of time making promotional appearances.

"I was doing a lot. I was running around a lot and doing a whole bunch of stuff and I've also been working out, so I think I wore myself down physically, I wore myself down mentally. I was ready to take some time off, at least like a month off, but two games is enough."

2 games is enough. Misunderstanding I guess. I was just reading it really fast and then I came out to post it.

Rick has always been a very private guy when it comes to talking about his team and its pretty much always been like that with the pacers. I also know Rick is a very strict guy. Ron disagreed with the offensive plan and got in a arguement with Rick. I think Rick proved that they can win without the injured guys and Ron when they beat the Twolves last night. Ron needs to check his ego and get with the team. Personally, I still dont believe the Artest is tired, and wants to promote his album and needs time of theory. Artest is the guy who came back just a few games after having surgery that was suppose to keep him out for a month.

Too me its just an ego thing with Ron wanting more shots and Rick wants to prove a point.

the world really doesn't need that many rappers. come to think of it....why don't we just have

1) one hard rock band
2) one pop-rock band
3) one punk band
4) one pop-punk band
5) one acoustic rock band
6) one jazz band
7) one reggae band
8) one rapper
9) one r&b singer

would save us alot of trouble. you could just say 'hey, did you get the new rap album yet?'

This is just another thing in an ongoing list of stupidities this (off)season though.

*) All the trade demands make me sick - those guys get paid loads of money (in the case of people like TMac or Vince 10+ millions a year) and signed long contracts for security - and now they want out? Same with Spree's extension demand, what the hell is he thinking?

*) Zo wants a buyout. Fine, I can understand he wants on a championship-caliber team, but then he needs to give in and take significantly less money for the buyout, not demand the full sum. Is he expecting the Nets to pay him fully while his contract still counts against their cap and then watch him play for another team?

*) Artest - nuff has been said, is he mad or what?

All great players, but they all need a reality check.

In an article that just appeared on ESPN Insider, and I have been unable to cut and paste, Chad Ford quotes DW as telling him the following this morning:

- The subject of the rap album never came up in conversations with Rick as to why he wanted time off.

- Ron came into camp weighing 260 pounds, this was the first time he was out of shape, and he was dragging.

- He is a guy who gives maximum effort and nobody questions his intensity.

- "Rick and Ron agreed on a course of action where he would sit out two games. He wasn't suspended because it wasn't about that."

I did not get this information personally, its from someone else.

Aldridge reported that Artest went to Carlisle earlier this week and said he wanted to retire, and that Artest and J.O got into a physical confrontation this week and that J.O is done with Artest.

The coach is stupider than Artest..... Artest wants time off... so he gets benched??? isn't that what he wanted? how is that a punishment
I say, Carlisle should just put him on for the whole 48 minutes  , that'll teach him for wanting to not play.
