Modded "relocation" for MyCareer?

Postby eziquiel on Tue Sep 08, 2020 9:25 pm

Is there any way to simply replace all team data from one team with for example the data for San Diego Surf?

When L trainer comes out you can create a myleague, have one of the teams in the myleague be the Surfs, copy the roster and then start mycareer. Then all you will have to do is put yourself on that team. ( This should work since all the logos V/O files, and uniforms are in the game files). If you have any other questions feel free to message me

Is L-trainer short for Limnono's tool, or is this some other modifier tool I'm not familiar with?

Yes it is, sorry for the confusion. I was in a zoom class when I typed that and I couldn't think of how to spell limnono :D

yes, this is possible.
right now it can only be done through Cheat engine but in 2k20 you could use looyh's 2k tool to do it also

Oh! I don't mind doing it in Cheat Engine, but is there a tutorial for that somewhere? Sounds like a bit more complicated than just search for value and replace.

There is no tutorial. Maybe once some tools are out we can make some tutorials.
It would be tough to explain with cheat engine

One problem - jerseys are overwritten after each game. Everything else carries over just fine. Anyone know a fix, or is this just how it works?

A clever fix to this would be to pull the jersey files of the team out of the game and add them to your mods folder as the (original ) teams home and away jersey. I haven't tried this myself but its just an idea

probably need to wait and pray that looyh works magic like last year
what I think you are talking about is when all the jersey data gets forced overwrite
I don't know if it does that on load or on save but it is really annoying that that is the solution 2K came up with when they couldn't figure out how to give us a way to put new jerseys and new shoes into older mycareer saves and other types of saved files like rosters
they force patch stuff when they can't figure out how to add in new textures/files that weren't part of previous versions of the game so you get a hurried forced patch function (city jerseys) from 2K18 that they never decide to reconsider how to implement it properly years later when they come out with "new" games
now that I think of it I don't even know if they have done that to shoes yet but please someone talk some sense into them and tell them to either remove the way they "fixed" it for jersey data or just start over from scratch and fix the whole process such a shame that they would choose this way of "fixing" "problems"

looyh's hook fixed this in 2K20 so just gotta be hopeful for 2K21
