In that case, it might be easier to just overwrite one of the extra teams that's already in the roster. That should be as easy as copying and pasting the data from one roster into another, which can be done using RED MC. The full version is completely free now, so you'll have complete access to do that. It's just like copying and pasting in an Excel spreadsheet, which is very handy!
Just a heads up if you haven't used RED MC yet, it may trigger a false positive with your anti-virus software due to the callback it makes to Vlad's site. You can add an exception for it in your security software, or temporarily disable the active shields while you use RED MC so it doesn't interfere and remove the program. You may have to do that while you download it as well, as sometimes it immediately gets flagged.

I downloaded it and opened U47 base roster but I'm not sure how to copy my team from the sydneykingsv2.ROS (with the players and attributes and etc) to the U47 roster

Well... its not easy for beginner. You must paste players from players tab and then paste your team row from teams tab into other roster teams tab. Players IDs must be the same in teams tab or if they will be different you must change them manually in teams tab. If you dont know how to, you can make backups and try. Bad paste will cause crashing.

Yeah I managed to do it, but the Import CSV function doesn't work and won't overwrite.... program is pretty annoying :/

i have zero experience with csv function. I dont think you should use 'annoying" word, REDMC is great tool if not the best ever modding tool.

It just seems like a basic function, I exported them as CSV's which worked, then edited my properties in (since it doesnt let u copy paste in REDMC for some reason, tried heaps then got a modder friend to try and didn't work for him either) but it won't even let me import in :/

Look man, don't go making problems where there aren't any, okay? Right click on first cell of tab you want to export to excel. Select all>copy> paste into excel> re-edit what you want to edit>paste into redmc.
Bassman58 wrote:When copying rosters or portions of rosters I do not use the CSV option. I directly copy and paste back and forth to a blank Excel sheet. Never tried the CSV option. I only copied the whole RedMC tab, made edits and then copied it back to RedMC. I never tried to add new entries and I doubt that would work.

I'm moving teams into the URB base roster, so I can have a collection of classic teams I want. Unfortunately, the URB only goes back to the mid 80s, so for teams earlier I need Pattheheads single seasons, but I cant get the files. His links put me through, MEGA, which is fine, but the time it takes to download is unreal, I've had one of the downloads going for 2 days.
I have a fast internet connection, and this is the only file set that works this way.
Either way, I dont use excel to move teams. I do it all right in RED MC by copying and pasting and just switching through tabs. If you get the system down it can be done in line 20 minutes per team.
I haven't done it in about 3 years, so I am going to see if I remember all the steps.

1. start game, create new (fictional) team ingame.
2. save file ingame.
3. yet open file with Reditor and overwrite created team.

ASA_ID is an ID assigned to every player and this value must be unique. No duplicates. Duplicates cause crashes. If you have Charles Barkley on two teams each must have a different ASA_ID. ASA_IDs can be re-numbered.
My feeling is that you can't copy more data in to a smaller container. This would happen if you export to Excel, add some more lines and then import back to RedMC. Can't stuff 10 lbs of s*** in a 5 lb bag. But you can clone lines to add new lines that you can then edit. I try to edit the existing unused lines first. That is the lines with asterisks (*************). I think these are reserved for created teams and future updates by 2K Sports. This is all my speculation since 2K Sports never shared their information and I doubt they ever will. NBA 2K was not designed for modding. Only the efforts of dedicated fans and modders have allowed us to mod at all.
Adding a new team is a step by step process. Baby steps only. Otherwise it's easy to mess up. Make frequent backups so you can revert to the last working roster. It is really easy to mess up. I have learned by lots of trial and LOTS of error. I'm sure Skoadam and PatTheHead would agree. I learned by emulating what other roster makers have done before me.
skoadam wrote:Jarrod wrote:^ I also tried to paste just the players themselves... still crashes. Guess you can't transfer players/teams across rosters...
Ofc you can but there is a lot of points of pasting where you can messed up things. You cant just paste full rows of teams tab. Same with players. Players in one roster can be assigned to TeamID x but in your roster it should be TeamID y. etc etc etc.
