Dear LiveJournal,

mp3, thanks man! Wish I can say the same thing to my parents. They're accustomed to having success and being their first-born, they were expecting a ton from me and well here we are. Started visiting this site in 2010, registered in 2013 (?), 6 years later - I'm this. Weird how we can document people's lives , right? Shieeet.

I wrote:Well, in my case I was off the forums for almost four years. It has been a rough patch. I did have a job (which I'm still not sure if I liked or hated, it was just... there.) Still single, not A LOT of friends, but thankfully they have always been there for me. Movies have been a nice way to clean off steam. At the end of October it will be five months without a job. My family has been supporting me, but here in Argentina, it's not an easy situation. Hopefully everything resolves soon.

Well, since I'm "kind of" back again, I will update my situation.

Got a job on February and it is easily the best I've ever had. The office is great, my co-workers are friendly, and time flies. I also started a relationship with a girl on April. I met her online just a week after starting my job, so everything is coming up. Best year of my life. Time to start saving money and, fingers crossed, be able to move out next year. That doesn't leave me a lot of time to watch movies / TV shows or start a story here (I will figure something out, hopefully), but hey. Can't really complain.

I've been reading Lamar Odom's book and man it's been really entertaining so far. He's always been one of my favorite players. Most of the time when reading biographies, it's hard to relate as people grew up back when things were different. But Lamar grew up around the time that I did, plus he talked about all the big name players back then who I recognize so it's as if a friend is telling me funny stories from when he was a kid. Highly recommended for any basketball fans

I'm still partial to the originals and double-coated myself, but caramel is pretty good too.

Used to post on this place when I was a bit younger. Got through a ruff patch in my life, but things are actually really good lately.

Might start posting again. I've got into statistics in the last couple of years, might as well get back to some "advanced" (pretty standard today to be fair) NBA stats to see what's what. Haven't really looked up on them for a while now.

I still am a big fan of the NBA, but things like time difference, blatant no calls on traveling, suspicious foul calls, flopping etc. sometimes make it difficult to stay involved. Maybe it's just me growing up.

So my work sent me home for the rest of the week since we're practically shut down. We are in the dining/hospitality business so we've been hit hard. All events have been cancelled through the end of the month

I guess I'll have time to catch up on some gaming. The new free Call of Duty game just came out

Iam not going to lie but iam struggling right now, financially and mentally.

After working so hard this passed two years after the mindset I was in, finding a job buying a cheap car and finding a place to live I felt like I'd come so far but the job I was in I was greatful they gave me an opportunity but I just didn't feel like it was for me, I worked so hard to get taken on full time and they don't give out many permanent contracts and I really wanted it but later on I realized I just wanted the security that comes with a perm contract but in reality the company had many issues and I knew I no longer wanted to wake up and go there so I looked for something I'd enjoy doing more and knew I could excel in now that my confidence and mental health was improving.

I did what your supposed to and find a job before you leave, it was through an agency as most jobs in the UK in my line of work have are the company's preferred method theses days and to be honest I looked forward getting back to weekly pay as the last 5 months I've struggled switching to monthly with my contract, I think monthly is fine if it's all you have ever known or have enough money in the bank to support the switch but I wasn't, far from it living hand to mouth.

So I started work in my new job two nearly 3 weeks ago and only managed two days training with a women who was sick training us, she said it was flu but turned out to be coronavirus so the people she had been training were put into the corna protocol and told he had to stay off the entire following week unpaid of course, while off last week I was notified that one week off has now changed to two week so first thing to go had to be my PS4 to for gas and electric as iam on a pre pay meter, the country I know are doing there best but I can't get much support as the money the government can give me (which they have increased to a special corna rate) pays my rent, iam at breaking point again now after last night's news that the country is on a 3 week shutdown so I have to go 5 weeks unpaid, tomorrow I will run out of electric, I only have my car left to sell and it's not worth much and will create a problem for when I can return to work, iam not ok mentality, in a dark place actually. I know it's a world crisis but I can only see my world right now and it's crashing down around me.

Well, it's 300 official cases here in Argentina... been on quarantine for a week, gotta be on quarantine for another week at least. It might be extended by the government.

Catching up on some movies, tv shows and 2K I've been pushing off, but obviously it's hard on the mental side of it... can't leave this walls, my family is here with me but I haven't seen my girlfriend in a week and it is our 1-year anniversary next month. It would kill me not to see her for a long period of time.

I feel incredibly blessed to be able to have some money saved up right now in a time where I'm literally stuck at home making 0. I have a buddy who runs a company and will hire me freelance to design some marketing collateral for him.

Will need to look for another job or file for unemployment if April comes around and nothing changes.

It's funny how universal basic income was something two weeks ago everyone (especially conservatives, even some Democrats and liberals) thought was too extreme and was a "socialist" idea but now is the "normal" or "humane" thing to do.

These are indeed strange and tough times. A shame a few companies are looking to profiteer during them; GameStop has somehow lowered its reputation even further. All the best to everyone while we bunker down, hopefully we can collectively flatten the curve and get back on track before too long. Stay safe and stay strong.

Tough times, but a few things to keep in mind:

1. Remember the impact stress has on your health. It is vital that you take a deep breath, and control the controllable.

2. You WILL get through this, and things will get back on track

3. Uncertainty sucks, and not knowing when this whole thing will end is tough on a lot of people financially, and emotionally. But, as cheesy and obvious as it sounds, don't forget what you do have and the different ways you can improve your situation and mental wellbeing.

Stress over the last 3 years has taken a decent toll on me, and most of it has been caused by my overthinking/overreacting to different things. I made things far worse on myself because I didn't allow myself to take a deep breath and truly evaluate each roadblock I was facing.

Keep your head up, you got this.

I know your right Derrick and thanks mate.

A little update, I managed to find work out of town, it's close to a 40 min drive but it's as a key worker at a distribution center supplying the supermarket's so I also feel like iam helping the country right now, only downfall is the long drives plus the lack of staff means there is so much more work to do and there is no guarantee that there will be a permanent job there for me but at least there will be money coming in at the end of next week

It's funny as well because I had to sell my PS4 a couple of weeks ago to cover household bills and I had a lot of downtime so the PS4 was a distraction, then last week my niece, who started at high school last sept and doesn't use hers said I could borrow her ps4 for a bit, not long after I re download 2k and NBA live 19 then the agency finds me some work and I have zero time to play on it.

A little update from England, the isolation period may be coming to an end next week as businesses may be given the go-ahead to return back to work.

It's been a tough few weeks but I want to thank the people that have shown me great generosity in theses uncertain times and I will forever be in your debt for your kindness.

I managed to get a job for the passed month handballing emptying shipping containers for the supermarket's, it's only been 3-4 days a week but make turn into more if some of the restrictions are lifted. It is a 25 mile drive away but iam happy to be paying bills and seeing my daughter at weekends.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

I saw an ad that 2k is hiring and to my surprise they do have offices here in southern California. The only problem is there's no openings for anything that I can do at the moment and the drive is a bit far. Around 20 mins no traffic (LOL) my guess would be over an hour each way normally

Maybe I'll check back when things start opening up again

Not that iam qualified but I'd be too local against 2k.

I try not to be do it on social media, I don't believe it's constructive without mutuel respect on how to address things and even if you worked for them I still don't think they would be listening to ideas unless it involved paywalls.

Look at how they treat the YouTube 2k "Fanboys"

I honestly think Andrew would be great at this job, but not for 2k. For nba live, it's one thing that they are really really lacking is communication.
