I badly want to return to 2k but I can't

Talk about NBA 2K20 here.

I badly want to return to 2k but I can't

Postby LeAnn on Mon Oct 28, 2019 6:09 pm

This NBA season is giving me the urge to load back up 20 and play again but I'm fighting it because 2k is a horrible company with horrible practices. I wish they'd try to right their wrongs by buffing SFs like they said, adding custom pie charts, adding a new park, etc. but it's 2k so none of that will happen. I'm surprised the media doesn't make a huge deal about 2k tbh. $60 for a game, $50 extra just to have a playable build, and that's just one build. On the other hand, my friend got his one free on Apknite (Android). What a joke! Not to mention the in-game advertisements and bugs. They won't even release patch notes lmao. What a joke (again)!

I think a lot of people share that sentiment this year, and probably the last couple of years. It can be difficult to take a stand because as you note, we're enthusiastic about basketball and want to play with NBA teams and players, and right now there's only one widely viable option (or indeed for this season, just one option) on the market.

I'd say if you've got the game and you're keen to play and enjoy it despite the issues you mentioned, then go for it. I managed to get to 93 Overall last year without spending a cent on VC. It took a lot of grinding of course, but it is possible if you want to avoid microtransactions on principle. I totally get not wanting to be part of the problem and all that, but as they already have your money/sale, if you can get enjoyment out of NBA 2K20 then by all means play it until you want to put it aside.

the world is a horrible place, sir LeAnn. the world is getting hotter. there's Boris Johnson. the movie "El Camino" is kinda awful. then there's Donald Trump. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead.
When i feel the itch to get back to playing, i end up doing 2KU freestyle then scrimmage then i get bored.
Then I think about the scandals of the roman catholic church and why poor countries stay poor.

Stay away from online and try offline MyLeague with custom sliders / mods etc, it's the only reason why I still play. Will probs rack up 2k+ hours just on MyLeague alone before 2k21 releases

Yeah, I play "MyCareer" that way.
A tip is to use "Synergy2K", can be found on reddit, a program that calculates exp points and upgrades depending on how you play in the game and that way you can pretty much get a mycareer without restrictions.

Right now I'm playing the "Tacko Fall mycareer". :D
No restrictions for height or attributes and you can use custom rosters.
Former teammate of Jonas Jerebko.
