I think the arm glitching can be resolved. Are you guys noticing glitching in the traps, pectoral, shoulder blades, etc. areas? Like in the blend_headShape part but below the head.

Some things I noticed......

...for first starting from a 2k19 CF I copy 2k20 .RDAT file which has some more rows....

Image

...then I adjust .RDAT file to adjust jersey fit

Image

...finally I adjust body lenght.....

Image

Still getting some eyes issues....but I can safely say that we can import a lot of CF from 2k19 and use them...some glitches but nothing major.....

A very slightly modified version of my application designed for conversions to 2K19 produces conversions to 2K20 free of the issues we have been discussing. Except in 2K20 the vast majority of the application is no longer necessary and can be removed, shortening the process down to a few minutes.

With this method I converted Chris Childs of the '99 Knicks created by R4zor for 2K19: http://www.mediafire.com/file/9ibt1lk72 ... s.zip/file

It may work but to be honest that's not something I will be looking into in the mere future. I still need to look at converting 2K17 and 2K18 faces to 2K20 before I worry about converting players to prior games. I have to stick with what the majority of people will be interested in which is converting to the new game.

Yes. Just like the method from last year works this year, the limitations from last year with the mouth animations also apply. And in 2K19 conversions, that was the case.

That being said, this is not the only method and if you are willing to deal with more time spent with accessory glitching and fitting the jersey in order to preserve the mouth animations, then another method can be used. When picking the best method it's kind of about weighing the benefits of the different methods and their limitations.

Using the old model file as a base usually means that the mouth/jaw animations can be at least somewhat preserved but the interaction of the body with the jersey and accessories can get pretty clunky. On the other hand, using the new model file as a base will usually make the jersey fit a lot cleaner but you lose the mouth animations.

Last year based on my own testing and the feedback I received, the latter method seemed to be the best because when the mouth animations were preserved, they did not look right anyway, and in some ways it was better to not have the mouth move at all as opposed to moving unnaturally.

Hey guys, I've been checking if another method could potentially bring over the mouth animations for converted players, and while I had some success there was still twitching happening in the pectoral area and a clunky fit with jerseys/accessories. I still think that the best method to use is the one I used to convert the Chris Childs a few posts back, albeit with no movement of the mouth.

I am going to move on to looking at conversions from 2K18 and 2K17 now, but in this video below you will see that I had a new find that could potentially lead to us bringing over mouth animations in the future. I now can link each of the lines in the "Morph" section of the hihead.SCNE file to a specific section in the model file. Each of those lines lists a specific "morph target", or a transformed version of the original mesh that is used in animation. At the end, I show a few of my own made up examples of what morph targets would look like. Note that these are not real ones actually drawn from the files, as I am still figuring out how exactly the data is stored.

Yo guys I've got some awesome news! This is pretty much the best case scenario for conversions this year. Just like with the Chris Childs from 2K19 I showed you a few posts back, that same method works for any conversion from 2K17, 2K18 or 2K19. It is a quick and easy process that can be done by a beginner, and you get a clean conversion. I have a tool that you run once, click a button, and exit. Then after that it's just normal edits to the text files (appearance_info.RDAT, hihead.SCNE), and then optionally you can shrinkwrap in Blender
