2019 ECF: (1) Milwaukee vs. (2) Toronto

Postby Lamrock on Mon May 13, 2019 11:55 am

2K really needs to patch out those shots were they bounce on the rim a bunch before going in, man.

Toronto has been my pick to make it out of the East for a while now, but the way things have shaken out, I'd say Milwaukee is the favorite to win the chip. Kawhi has been the best player in the playoffs, and the Raptors' defense is no joke, but their role players are just not consistent. Given their depth and consistency, I think the Bucks win it in 6 games.

I'm going with the Bucks in 7. A shame one of these teams has to bow out, as I like the idea of either one of them making it through to the Finals. As you said, the Bucks' consistency is likely the deciding factor here.

Bucks in 6. TBH I'm a little surprised Philly took Toronto down to the final second of game 7. Bucks are way better than Philly

Kawhi vs Giannis AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. Better supporting players win this series if those 2 don't slow down. Bucks in 6.

Toronto in 7.

Ibaka, Siakam and Kawhi will make enough of a difference defensively on Giannis to pull out the series.

Antetokoumpos may have been the best player this season but I think Kawhi will be the best player of the series, hence going to the Finals. Raptors in 5.

some interesting takes on the kawhi lenard traded thread...

all those load management jokes about him all lead to that epic game 7.

i like both teams but the bucks easily dispatched the celtics and have some bench pieces in case bledsoe or the non giannis frontcourt players flop

Considering dominance so far by the Bucks, I know it is hard to go against the deer but I think Kawhi will be the best player in this series. Giannis is still a baby and only just had a breakout season as a team. Most of great players in making suffer a loss against another great player(s) in prime before getting to the biggest stage, and I think this will be that pivot point of his career for Giannis. Kawhi is a made player and has experience in getting it done on the toughest stages of the world and time, multiple times. Giannis, wait your turn, your time will come.

You heard it here first.

maybe last year's loss to the celtics was the Bucks turning point?

maybe the series will come down to a supporting player like caughnaton or vanvleet hitting key baskets instead of night king lenard or greek freek

The Raptors blew an off game from the Bucks (Lopez aside) and a great game from Kyle Lowry here. It's hard to see them keeping up with the Bucks in this series. Their bench is god-awful and Milwaukee is probably the league's best team right now. Probably overreacting but this could be a sweep.

Jason Kidd was terrible. Except for his first season with the Bucks where they played good defense everything else is just sad. He made the Bucks young core play old man basketball and not in a good way.

Another 4-1 series would separate the Bucks from rest of the eastern contender pack like how it has been Warriors and everyone else for years in west.

It's ok to say new Lebron James of the east

I hadn't seen a coach get so much negative coverage like Kidd did after his firing. One article after another highlighting how terrible his offense was

Narrowly avoided the sweep I would say.

How much it takes to steal a win at home almost makes me cringe. Kawhi could be the modern day Jordan but Giannis is the modern day Shaq, so they say.

Hopefully Kawhi will be 100% for the next game.

Kawhi is so fucking good on defense. Even stopped a Giannis layup with just his hands cupping the ball what the fuck.

i think so far this can rival the 2016 playoffs. the Western conferene alone was epic. OKC taking out a great spurs team. one of the best series of all time in GSW vs OKC. all culminating with a 7 game nba finals. hard to top that
