As you've probably noticed, we've made some changes to the layout of the NLSC Forum. The index page is now divided into three main categories - NLSC content, current basketball video game discussion, and general/off-topic sections - with the sections for older NBA Live and NBA 2K releases now under their own subcategory, rather than underneath everything else on the index. The previous subsections (Modding, Tutorials & FAQs) are still intact under the boards for their respective games; their parent board has just been taken off the index page.
Why the change?
With the number of years we've been around, and the expansion to cover NBA 2K and other basketball games on top of NBA Live, the Older Games section on the old index page was getting rather long. Many of these sections don't see as much activity these days, especially the really old releases, so they were just taking up space. This way, they're still open to new posts and replies, but they're archived to keep the index neater.
Have any sections been deleted?
No, every section that was available immediately before this change is still there. It may just take a few more clicks to get there. While this may be a little inconvenient in some cases, it's a decision that was made based on the amount of activity in those older sections. We're confident that the folks who are dedicated to older games will be able to adjust.
If this doesn't work out, will you consider changing up the layout again?
Yes, although we want to give this new layout a fair try first. If the layout proves to be problematic and a better solution can be devised, it won't be too difficult to make those changes if need be.
Are any further changes coming?
We have discussed the possibility of spinning off a few sections from the Other Basketball Games board, and having dedicated sections for NBA Playgrounds, NBA Jam, and NBA Street. Those are some of the most popular and well-known basketball video game series apart from NBA Live and NBA 2K, and it would emphasise that the NLSC Forum is a place to discuss a wide variety of basketball video games. However, the demand may not meet the supply, so for now we're sticking with Other Basketball Games for all those other titles. It's something we'll consider if there's interest, though.
