I have a problem about this game. Before the name change while it's in the PSN store I pre-ordered it. But later it's changed the name. And a page appeared it says you will get a refund. But I didn't get anything. Problem is I have US PSN . Because credit cards not working with our countr's PSN . So I am using US PSN with gift cards from Amazon. When it said you will get a refund I tried to contact with US PSN support but it seems that website has an IP block. What could I do ?

Still same bullcrap. Weeks ago I reported Micheal Jordan customization bug. From both Steam forums and official 2K Support system via tickets. I got a feedback from there.
Still nothing changed so far...

I have not played this game, but the art has always intrigued me.

What do you think is holding this game back? Part of me wants to say that this genre just isn't what it used to be, the other part wants me to say that it's poor marketing.

The other part is: I feel like with NBA 2K and NBA Live's "Builds" systems, and the popularity of those games going that route, and the fact that MyPark is halfcourt streetball in itself, had really hurt this genre. People want to do what there buddies are doing, and all the young guys/gals are playing MyPark, MyCareer, etc.

I have not played it either, but I did play the first one which had issues with them not being able to decide if they wanted sim or arcade features. there was a meter for layups and dunks. duplicate cards were possible so collecting cards (and getting specific favorites) was nearly impossible with so many possibilities from packs. I agree my park has definitely scratched the streetball itch for many basketball gamers. But I think success can be found in not necessarily doing a streetball game, but doing a really good arcade style game since the sim games are covered

Yeah it's possible that the initial NBA Playgrounds being a bit of a miss factored into Playgrounds 2 not taking off, even though 2K put it's stamp on it. I saw saw a mixture of positive and negative for the original Playgrounds.

I think more diversity needs to exist in the arcade gaming market. A NBA Ballers type game where online matchups/matchmaking can happen COULD be a big hit if it was executed properly. If they could put together some good gameplay controls, have an online leaderboard, and different one on one game options/different cool venus indoors and outdoors, while also having the NBA license and with classic players included, it could be popular.

I think the biggest problem is that it's tried to do things differently to NBA Jam, but in doing so, it's ignored the basic principles that made arcade basketball games enjoyable. In other words, it's done the wrong things differently.

Three-pointers are difficult, even for great shooters. Too many dunks still miss. As Q said, there's a bit too much sim in its arcade experience, such as having the shot meter and more realistic percentages for threes. Not only do you have to unlock a lot of players, but you also have to grind them all up so that they have their full ratings (at Bronze level, they're not very good at all). The AI has either been really cheap or really weak, and the single player modes feel repetitive. The commentary is not as exciting as it should be; Ian Eagle is no Tim Kitzrow.

That's not to say that it isn't any fun at all, but it's still a poor man's NBA Jam. That still makes it a pretty solid arcade game, but On Fire Edition, released way back in 2011, still did it much better.

Just picked this up, played it for an hour or so.

Dare I say that this game is now underrated????.....

I like the challenge of the timing on layups and dunks, it's not a mindless arcade game because of that. Yes, it's hard on the hardest level, but that's why it's the hardest level.... it's supposed to be difficult.

The art is awesome, and they have a plethora of classic players.

Was surprised at how solid the game is....

I still feel like too many dunks are missed, and three-point shooting doesn't know whether it wants to be sim or arcade. On Fire Edition is still the gold standard for me as far as arcade basketball games are concerned. The Real AI was just too good of an addition.

That's not to say Playgrounds isn't solid. I just expected more.
