ermergerd this gaaaame.....
A few more tweaks to the handling, a new car, and "sexy grass" has made all the difference. I was feeling like the game was still very incomplete, until I tried Flatout 1 again. Realized I was seeing the same amount of variation, if not more, in cars and tracks in Wreckfest in comparison. Still a lot of WIP track-wise, but this game is definitely not lacking in content as badly as I thought it was.
5 Demo Stadiums
3 Gravel/Sand locations, one with multiple routes in it and all with reverse variants
3 Tarmac locations, one that is pretty "professional" in nature and all with reverse variants
3 Stadium locations, one with an inner/outer oval and the others having figure 8s and ovals
2 Mixed locations, similar to rallycross
With the new Asian car that's 8 cars that can range from D class to A class, plus the lawnmower
And then the different gamemodes. Elimination races based on time or laps, team races or demos, respawning "deathmatch" demos, and then sprint cups that are 3 2-lap races on a track with points and varying grid positions.
Add modding, and you got a happy Jon. There is a hidden incomplete gamemode (that doesn't seem too incomplete, probably some incompatibility somewhere) Folk Race which is a cup variant with heats, semi-mains, and an A & B main event. Very easy to swap out "default" and "aggressive" profiles to make all the AI aggressive. And texture modding seems easy...except I still don't like texturing.
Adding to all of that the random market of parts and their durabilities and crews that gain EXP and can repair parts, that if you ignore actually affect car performance.....and nevermind online play.....
yeah, this game is pretty damn sweet as-is...only wish their updates came more often & quicker.
