Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Vince doesn't mind, he was seated close to Brock at the table in another pic.
Shane was alongside the royal family (probably handling the business talk during dinner), seated near him was Braun and Roman, then HHH.
Check out Kurt Angle's insta.

Vince reportedly loved Titus' entrance, hilariously loved it, making me think it's likely a work considering Vince's sense of humor where he gave Hornswoggle a career.

Oh, there was never any doubt that it was a non-issue. I mean, there's a clip from Stone Cold's podcast with Vince right there on the WWE's YouTube channel where Vince is talking about how he made the call to end Taker's streak. As long as it's not part of the regular broadcast, they're not afraid of breaking kayfabe. It's just funny to see is all, especially given the on-screen history between Taker and Lesnar.

Titus O'Neil's entrance was pretty funny, arguably less so if it was planned, and certainly not helped by the obnoxious laughter on commentary (though that further suggests it was indeed a work):

As for the Rumble itself, a good move giving Braun the win, but Daniel Bryan also came out looking pretty strong, so they were at least booked well if nothing else.

Now that it has been brought up, I think Titus's entrance could totally have been planned
There were plenty of throwaway moments built in just to amuse Vince

Vince is still sore about the grabbing incident.

There's a clip of him doing the same entrance tripping himself when he was still in NXT.

the commentators not only acknowledged it instead of completely ignoring it like they usually do when something goes wrong but they continued to laugh and make a big deal out of it longer than they should have
also, they're normally almost exclusively watching the broadcast on the screens in front of them instead of watching the action in ring so they can commentate on what the tv audience is seeing, but the camera cut away way early so they had to know what was up beforehand or were at least told by vince over their headsets to make fun of Titus

Sadly, they went over the top in the mockery, but par for the course with the current style of commentary.

This is still the worst example of obnoxious commentary, though:

I'm much more excited for the SDL than RAW rosters at this point, minus the current US Title picture.

I would agree. Shin AJ Joe Bryan rusev day are all guys I like to watch and I'd actually take the time to watch their segments. The thought of Roman Braun Elias and Seth rollins makes me not want to watch at all. I wind up skipping most of raw now although I did watch when I heard they booed the hell out of Roman this week

I like Rollins and Elias has grown on me, but as long as it remains the Roman Reigns show, and the brand with a part time champion, I definitely find it far less appealing as well.

So there's no way AJ or Nakamura or any of the top Smackdown guys are main eventing as long as Roman is there. AND IT'S NOT EVEN FOR A TITLE.

Since when did a No DQ match had a count-out? Since tonight? I felt like the AJ-Shin match was going to be miles better than the Wrestlemania match but it just ended flat with that finish.

Rollins/Miz was the best match of the night. And that was it.

Weird finishes that contradict the match rules and stipulations were a hallmark of the final days of WCW. As much as Vince likes to spit on WCW's grave, there are a lot of parallels that you can draw with things WWE has done in recent years.

Well, that card fell off a hard cliff after the IC Title match. Yikes. Worst PPV in some time.

I was waiting for the AJ Shin match and couldn't stay awake. Was nodding off during the match and wound up falling asleep after that lame ending. This better lead to some crazy last man standing match or something

Rumor has it that Cena Bella break up is a work. I wouldn't be surprised.

No Way Jose will be the next Adam Rose when the novelty of his act wears off.

It's lame that they changed the Curb Stomp to The Stomp and let they allow Roman to do a Drive By. Honestly most people who haven't seen American History X would have no idea what a curb stomp is anyways.

If it's a work, it's rather pointless, since it's not really playing out on TV or anything. Then again, I suppose WWE has done sillier and more bewildering things over the years.

Should've stuck to calling it the Black Out. Sure, it's not a play on his ring name now that he's no longer Tyler Black, but it still makes sense.

There was a string of weeks before WrestleMania that Graves was calling Rolling's finisher Blackout, as far as I can remember.

I remember that. Guess Vince decided he didn't like that, and they went with a slightly less controversial version of the move's original WWE name. I think that controversy is overblown and probably not a lot of people were complaining, but they probably decided it was for the best in light of being a publicly traded company that aims for lucrative sponsorship deals.

Agree with Andrew, you'll never know when a move with the word "black" in it and taken from a scene where a black person is stomped to death would cause an issue. Better to play it safe and call it The Stomp than Black Out.

They probably could've called it Lights Out without any issues, but what's done is done. Or perhaps not, since they're obviously open to renaming finishers as the need arises.

So when Ronda eventually tops Stephanie and Nia and gets the belt, can we look forward to her being the next Brock Lesnar?
