Great performance by George, but also a super underrated defensive effort by Melo. He had a really solid first half, ended the game with 3 steals, 2 blocks and 7 boards as well.

If Melo isn't scoring 20, but he is doing the other things... I think OKC will be just fine with that. It's when he has those 4-17 games, and doesn't contribute hardly anything else, that's when he is a real problem.

35 Minutes for Gobert, with only 7 rebounds and the same shot block total as Melo... that won't get it done. Him and Steven Adams were basically a wash, the Thunder will certainly take that.

Also somebody needs to step up from Jazz second unit. The Thunder's second unit was very effective because Paul George remained on the floor and killed it. Westy/Adams were able to comeback in with increased lead.

Westbrook can be pretty frustrating to watch when he pulls up for those pull up long two's and just bricks them. Thankfully for OKC PG13 was on fire, he was throwing up shots that had no business going in.

Utah needs to get more movement on their offensive end, lot of possessions ended up in iso situations against the shot clock.

Westbrook, George, and Melo were a combined 0/14 in the fourth.

Brick 3 combined for 2 points in fourth.

Do we still wonder why KD left.

Anybody else think Billy Donovans explanation for having Brewer out is ridiculous?

A reporter asks him if he thinks he should have stuck with Brewer to begin the 4th quarter, or bring him in sooner, because of the outstanding job he was doing on Mitchell, and the fact that Mitchell went off at the start of the 4th. Billy basically says he did it to try to enhance OKC's rebounding... what!? They literally were doing awesome for most of the 3rd quarter, in part because they were stifling the Jazz and Mitchell specifically, which was Brewers doing. They even went up 10 in the 3rd quarter.

Makes no sense, some serious coaching issues in these playoffs... between Thibs and Billy, I am ripping my hair out.

This series is so underrated, packed with so much intense and entertaining moments.

LoL @ the Thunder daring Rubio to shoot. Nearly all attempts he took today were open looks. He's making some but missing a lot too especially 3s. Wonder if the Thunder will continue using this strategy in second half.

What a frigging first half. Too bad, I again have to miss second half. ;-(

Nice to see rubio flourishing and being appreciated by a playoff team and showing what he can do. So many years wasted in Minnesota

Favors and Gobert very efficient and productive. Nice to see traditional styled frontcourt duo thriving in small ball era.

Steven Adams has been flat out taken out of this series, I was wrong. I thought they would be able to get him more buckets on the move, and that he would be successful in being physical with Rudy... wrong. Rudy's arms are freakishly long, he is stifling Adams and frustrating him.

Melo going 5 for 18.... not surprising, but im frustrated with him (Consistent theme with him). However, Donovan using him as a spot up shooter just doesn't work, that's not his game. He's not Anthony Toliver. I'd like to see him get atleast some looks in the high post in ISO ball, if he's going to shoot 18 shots, atleast let him play his game on some of those. Not saying he would have changed the outcome, but sometimes it's okay to let Melo be Melo, especially when your offense all around is stinking with the current strategy.

Westbrook wasn't really allowed to play aggressive defense, it bothered me. A couple of those fouls were questionable (One of the bumps where it looks like Rubio flops). But man, he has to be better... he settles for bad shots outside (A la, first round against HOU last year), and he just keeps shooting. Shooters shoot, I get it... but the Brodie has never been a reliable SHOOTER. I love him, but he frustrates me.

Props to Utah, and Ingles random onslaughts. The Utah team plays TOGETHER, and overall has more pieces. I like this series, because as much as I know the NBA and most of the world would love a Westbrook vs Durant playoff series, the better all around team is prevailing, and at the moment pretty convincingly.

i'm shocked adams isn't playing better. he's had a few good moves on gobert but OKC doesn't give him more chances. why not at least try to get gobert in foul trouble?! idk maybe he's hurt. or maybe play more grant and pray grant can hit

Bullshit game. Ofc Gobert and Favors both greatly bothered by foul trouble. both got 5 atm, which is the only reason the game is so close right now.

But credits to Westy. Down by 25 in the third, I thought this game was over.

Good West shows up for a game. Huge props. 20+ deficit in third, eradicated.

As for the jazz, this is why Gobert is a must on the floor.

That was an incredible comeback.

I just hope Westbrook has enough energy left to do it again in game 6, otherwise it may be an anticlimax end to the series.

yeah what a run by Westy and George. no way to defend that key George step back 3. some phantom fouls on gobert & favors but i give credit to OKC for taking it to them.

lol i thought at first it was good thing when gobert got his 4th as crowder checked in and immediately hit a 3 but then favors got a cheap one...

Yep, I've said that you're WAY better off with average NBAer in place of Carmelo Anthony.

https://ca.nba.com/news/nba-playoffs-20 ... 7v2grbi38f
With that in mind, there is but one thing to do: Throw in the towel on Carmelo Anthony.

We're not saying cut back his minutes. We're saying glue him to the bench, and firmly. Anthony has been a useless offensive player in this series against the Jazz thus far, averaging 12.8 points on a measly 36.9 percent shooting, including 21.4 percent from the 3-point line. He has committed five turnovers against just two assists, both of which came in Game 1.

Yes, you read that right: Anthony has not had an assist for four games. Maybe you've gotten used to that in Oklahoma City.

Since late February, the Thunder have been better with Abrines or Grant in the lineup. Anthony's net rating was 2.7 after Feb. 24; Abrines' was 3.0, and Grant's was 4.9.

Save yourself. Possibly even save your team, or at least get them to a Game 7.

Put Anthony on the bench. And leave him there.

Billy's back is against the wall now, it makes me wonder how many minutes Melo will play today.

It seems drastic, but let's not forget Steve Kerr benching Andrew Bogut halfway through the 2015 Finals and running with that small ball lineup of death. Sure, Melo is a far more accomplished player than Bogut and much more likely to grumble, but the point is that it would be a bold and drastic change, and if it's best for the gameplan...well, it's not without precedent. Tough call to make, though.
