I'm a frikkin' Slovenian, so that means that NBA TV isn't anywhere close to my location (<- is that a fact? Can I watch it through a satellite?). But still, I want to watch those beautifull games from the 90' and 80'. How and where to get it?

nah i believe that you can only recieve nba tv in the usa and very few other countries, however you could buy old game off
Pontel but it can cost alot of money to keep up with all the games but its better than nothing.

As a longtime PonTel customer, I certainly recommend them as a source of classic NBA games.

I've encountered very few problems with the tapes and have been able to get free replacements with the two or three tapes that have been faulty. I have close to 100 tapes from PonTel, so the percentage of tapes that have had problems is very small.

Hey Andrew, couple of questions...
1. Can you still purchase game tapes even in the United States? I don't have NBA TV, and I still want to keep some games with me.
2. Can you purchase classic games, like Jordan's Flu Game, 86 Lakers-Celtics. I saw the Flu Game and the older one's I've never seen, but those are the games that I want to keep in my collection.
Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure you can purchase them in the United States, but not 100% sure. I definitely know that Jordan's Flu Game is available - pretty much all of the Bulls' playoff games from the 90s are available. Nearly all of the Finals games from 1984 onwards are available.

Il back Andrew up on that, ive been buying Pontel vids (& now dvds) since 97 and have over 250 of them and only 2 have been faulty and have been replaced very quicky with no hassle what so ever.
Also iam 99% sure that you can get them in the USA but if you want to check then you can email then and they will get back to you pretty quicky(Y)

What you will have to do is email them and ask them to send you a list of classic games, they send me lists in the post all the time!!

I believe you get acces to the classic videos if you are a regular client with them, you get the classic games lists by mail sorted by year, team, player etc. But mailing them is also a option.
I myself used to order from Pontel, untill I found a better, cheaper and faster source over here in the Netherlands.

Wow, I've never given much thought to the amount of NLSC members that are overseas. You mean to tell me that the only way you guys see games are from videotapes you have to order? How did y'all catch last years Finals? Did you have to wait for a tape in the mail meanwhile knowing who already won? If so, my heart goes out. I take alot for granted and didn't even realize it....

I still have Canal +, shows a few games during the week + the finals.
Wed Sep 15, 2004 3:11 am
Lol. Yeah, we don't see much NBA in live, only the biggest games and tiny bit of playoffs. Hell, I'll be moving to some US college in a year or two, so the future is quite bright (at least for me :cool.).
NBA TV, ESPN Classic, here I come!

My cousin has Foxtel and tapes a lot of games for me. During the Finals, I spent a bit of time at his place watching some games live. Mostly I use PonTel for classic games and getting the full All-Star weekends on DVD.

i live in belgium (europe) and i have NBA+, it's like NBA TV but french. I'm realy realy happy with this channel. yesterday i was watching game 5 of the 87 playoffs between boston and detroit (bird's steal). and right now i'm watching detroit vs new jersey (playoffs '04).
What i'm trying to say is, if i can watch al these games then so can you (european) guys.

We also get to see one game a week on "sky" but they show alot of the big teams every week which isnt that bad, but i like to get vid a week for the knicks so at least i can see two of there games!!
In England there use to have tv shows on a few channels with a game a week and the weekly round up but they stopped that when "sky" took over.
To get sky costs £41 a month for the full package (movies, sport) which i think is too much considering i only get 1 game a week!!
What i'm trying to say is, if i can watch al these games then so can you (european) guys.
HOW??
For me Pontel is a life saver.
