Horford, possibly, but Aldridge least deserving?
Putting up 22-8-1 on 50-33-83 % shooting and leading the team to the 3rd best record in the competitive Western Conference despite no Kawhi and surrounded by the ghost of Pau Gasol, corpse of Danny Green, and young players who weren't even a big part of the rotation a season ago?

lol what?

Neither Aldridge nor Horford are 'least deserving'.

How did John Wall even sneak in? Kevin Love also very questionable imho. I'd consider KAT also a tier lower than Aldridge and Horford given his improved, but still bad defense.

So I guess they don't have to run through cones anymore in the Skills Challenge. That's kind of weak. No wonder the bigs have as much of a chance as the guards these days.

OK, so they are going through the markers, but only one way. Still a bit weak, especially with only one pass.

Also, Embiid trying to get away with not completing the pass.

I was hoping Harris would take it after that blazing start in the first 3 racks. He was in a rhythm but lost it in the last 2 racks

Great performance by Booker. 3/4 on my picks so far.

I'm still not a fan of the money rack, as it artificially inflates the scores and feels a bit cheap. It's the only reason the old record of 25 fell. It is what it is though, and Booker put on a show in the final round.

Dunk contest was a bit of a letdown. Too many dunks banking on the nostalgia factor, cringe-worthy usage of props, and bad judging. Mitchell got a very generous 50 jumping over Kevin Hart and his family, and another one for the lob off the board in the final around. Dennis Smith Jr. was robbed on his first dunk, and had the dunk of the night with the 360 between-the-legs, switching hands. A bit anti-climactic, and again, the judging left much to be desired.

Terrible crowd, too.

If I'm the NBA I'm asking Gordon and LaVine how many zeros we need to add to this check to just have you 2 go against each other for 30 minutes next year.

Definitely hard to follow the show they put on a couple of years ago.

Anywhere but LA, following that lifeless crowd.

I liked Dwight Howard's double tap from a few years back a little more than Nance's, but it was one of the best dunks of this year's contest. I can't complain about the score on that one.

I think they need an extra dunk somewhere in the first round or finals

Maybe first round to feature more guys and to maybe discourage guys from saving dunks

oladipo hype af every year and finishes last every year--so fucking hilarious

With a bigger field, they could have first round, semi-finals, and then finals. If they want to go with just two rounds, six competitors, three finalists, and three dunks per competitor per round would be good.

I do think there should be less emphasis on props and gimmicks (though it wasn't as bad as in years past), and trying too hard to appeal to nostalgia. It felt like Nance and Mitchell got way too much credit simply for that, though that's not to say they didn't have a couple of good dunks.

Let's be honest. If you need Kevin Hart and children to crouch down in order to dunk over them, you may as well not bother.

That's what bugged me about that getting a 50. We've seen every element of that dunk done better at some point. It was a blend of stuff that's been done, and done better. I feel like we missed out on another awesome dunk from Smith because of those inflated scores.

Oladipo though...yeah, no more invitations for him.

I feel like Dennis Smith Jr had the best dunk with that between the legs switching hands and going 360. That was amazing!

Crowd was awful. Mitchells dunks were pretty boring if you ask me.

I thought they were OK, he was at least consistent. They just weren't that original though, and benefited from some generous 50s.

They need to bring back the old rules, and reinstate the HOFamers as judges, Dr J was the only one who was there. Let the entertainers stay at home. Chris Rock, Mark Wahlberg, DJ Khalid ? C'mon man....

Some guys are great in-game dunkers. Oladipo is one of them.

I thought the dunks were good but not great.

Feels like we are spoiled in this era. We've seen too much too good.

Team USA getting pwned by team world. Could have been fun if USA players took the game little more seriously. I thought the rosters were quite amazing for the new players in the league.

Game started off alright, but now they're just standing around trying to pot threes.

They're a combined 7/31 from three in the first quarter. Players tossing up bricks and airballs from 40 feet out. A shame. It started out promising, but I think I'm out.
