Re: Roster editing using CE

Isn't this just re-enabling teams? Pretty sure we won't be able to make a roster as big as the UBR if that's the case. Regardless nice work TG.

From the looks of things Dee despises this game, he's completely focused on 2K17 which sucks because not many people still play it. All the hype built up for rosters has been thrown down the drain because of it. I personally don't give a shit about the game or how it plays.... I just want to create things. We're losing time day by the day, the further we procrastinate major classic team rosters the less likely they will be completed.

Ok clear I'll focus on audio ID and arena ID

I will start working on it this week.

I'm hoping I have the same ability to sculpt in blender for this game as I do in 2K17, because I can make some pretty solid faces right now, which we will need a lot of for 2K18. A LOT.

Do we have the full ability to overwrite the all time teams? As in, do a complete conversion?

Oh that's a relief to hear, and yes we can edit pretty much everything about them whether it's what jersey/floor/stadium file they use or what their accessory colours are thanks to the guys. The only problem we have is changing audio id's, although maumau just said he will look into it.

Changing audio IDS is actually cake for 2K17, Carolus made me a table and I've been doing it in cheat engine. Each team should still have 2 audio ids and the Arenas should also have 2. As long as we can make a table for them in CE it will be very easy.

I know the bytes related to audio ID's. I will implement it to the table in the next couple of days.

Very nice stuff, any progress with creating a table that has a list of team/accessory colours?

Just a question...let's say I want to change All Time Knicks Slot to -> 2004 Knicks (for replace all time teams with more classic one)....now All Time teams just use current arena...is there a way to assign retro arena to All Time teams?

I mean for 99 Knicks we have a record with sxxx and fxxx to use.....but for All Time Teams it seems they just use current sxxx and fxxx....

This isn't possible yet, but I think I know how to do it.

Another question I have is there a byte that controls the position of a team in the roster viewer? For example if we did finish the UCTR could we reorganise the teams by year?

The problem with a jerseys table is that there are so many jerseys entries that it would take a lot of time to build such a table (at least at our current skill level). That alone is OK, but we don't know if 2k will reset all the jersey related changes after some patch in the future (just like they did last year after patch 1.05). I this case all our work would be pretty much lost.

I think the position of a team in the roster viewer is controlled by where the team entry is placed on the teams list. So the 76ers will always be the first, Bucks second, Bulls third and so forth.

So in order to organise the teams we would have to swap every bit of information team by team. That seems like too much work lol

I don't care about the organization personally as long as we can accurately overwrite the all time teams. It will make it so all the new teams are together anyway.

It is possible already thanks to your teams and arenas table.

I think what he wants to do is to assign a whole new arena entry to a team. Because the all-time Knicks and the current Knicks (example) share the same arena entry, if we change s014 to s912, both the all-time and the current teams will have a new stadium. If we manage to tell the game that the all-time knicks and the current knicks have separate arenas, then we could change floors and stadiums individually in those cases.

Re: Roster editing using CE

Sorry I was responding to the wrong thing.
But there is a byte to refers to each teams arena ID. Even though all time teams use the same Sxxx.iff files as current teams, there is an arena id value that causes this. Each team can have its own arena ID.

These videos from RED MC should help you guys understand what you are looking for.

I have this video starting @ 2:18, Jaosming discusses the arena ID and how it works ( @2:18 -2:34 is the only important part)

Question:

Is there any way to delete all player portraits? Which file do I need to be editing for that to happen?

I'd rather see the auto-generated, "in-game" models than the player portraits.

If you wanted to do it by using cheat engine, you would need to go through every individual player and change the portrait id (probably to an unused id)
can't thing of another way at this time.

For those who want to change current teams to classic teams, and classic teams to current teams.

Yeah I want:
Current Knicks-> One Arena (fxxx,sxxx)
All TIme Knicks -> Another Arena (fxxx, sxx)

And yes there should be sort of Team->Arena ID byte

I personally think that a roster that will replace all time classic with retro teams would be huge (I personally don't like all time teams idea)

:D
