16 More Classic Teams to be added in NBA 2K18

Awesome! I've previously expressed interest in seeing the Heat and Knicks teams from around that era, so that's good news in my book. While a few teams from the past decade wouldn't go astray, it'll be nice to get some more from the 90s, and perhaps a couple more from the 80s as well.

These are literally two teams only my roster had for 2K17. I'm pretty pumped that I'll have slots for them now.

It will be interesting to see if that Heat team will wear the 50th anniversary gold NBA badge from that 1997 season, and if they'll give Alonzo that ever needed update. Knowing 2K, I'm going to go in skeptical.

I'd like to think we have excellent taste in retro teams. And of course, the fact that 90s teams are retro makes me feel old.

I'm seriously so proud of 2k for listening to the people. So many people on consoles wanted more classic teams, more retro content. And they listened and are adding it. We can fix art stuff, and fill teams (for PC). But now atleast the console users will have more retro content to use.

15-16 Warriors (Too soon?)
13-14 Spurs
12-13 Pacers
11-12 Thunder
10-11 Bulls
10-11 Mavericks
08-09 Lakers
07-08 Hornets
06-07 Warriors
04-05 Spurs
02-03 Nets (I think they will add the 05-06 Nets)
01-02 Kings
01-02 Celtics (Just can't see them adding this team...but I wouldn't mind)
99-00 Pistons (I would think they would add the Grant Hill/TMac team, like the 02-03 Magic.. but who knows)
98-99 Knicks (Confirmed)
92-93 Nets

I dont want to be a dick but... imo they are doin what modding comunity are doin. Why? Because they want to be closer to the community. Is it bad? Absolutely not but i want to see QUALITY and ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS, not just poor addon to the whole current stuff. Im more than sure that your mod from 2k17 is much better than 2K18 new retro stuff.
We cant be hyped just because we will have new slots. Look at your reaction, you are happy because you will be able to switch their stuff with yours.
Its like buying new car and right before buying thinking about removing engine. This is not what im expecting when im buying new thing.
So, for me, personally it cant be a reason to preorder 2k18, i would rather buy cheap 2k17 version and put your mod inside and donate you

And btw, thanks for the kind words.

I think part of it is: Most companies don't even produce sports games at all for PC, not only does 2k continue to make the PC community a priority, but they also are clearly listening to consumers. Whether or not the final product is great or not (Sometimes with art its just a damn miss, period), and maybe they don't have the licensing for certain players, but atleast we have a solid base.

It will be cool when you come over the this gen, you do amazing work with your team for 2K13 and 2K14. Whenever you do come over, i'll be here and we can tackle rosters like never seen for this gen.

Nah, I don't think you should be overwriting the new teams at all. You can replace the all time teams for the UCTR.

Nah, I don't think you should be overwriting the new teams at all. You can replace the all time teams for the UCTR.

I'm on the fence on how to do it. If we can overwrite the euro teams this year we can just use them, and the roster would be awesome and massive.

What if we put all the euro teams in a myleague (which would get them to 13 players). And use his method. Wouldn't that solve the 13 player problem?

LOL, they could have added the 05-06 Mavs then, which by the way destroyed this very 05-06 Grizzlies team in the 06 playoffs.

And I bet they will use the same number font for both sets of uniforms, which wasn't the case in real life (too lazy to show pictures right now). 02-03 Mavs for example had an away uniform that in real life was used for the first time in 2010. They don't seem to care that much about art details on those retro teams. And I'm expecting a bunch of generic players as well, especially on the 06 team. I hope I'm wrong on this though.

The main reason I believe some of these new classic teams are in the game is so that the assets to create other related classic teams are available. This makes retro rosters easier to create.

Once you go into MyLeague the max teams the roster can have is 36, so that would not be the ideal way to go about it.

This is a huge waste in my opinion..since 80% of those players are already in the game ...

Which is understandable, of course. Though, when we think classic teams, we usually think older than four years ago, and certainly more significant, especially if you are going to use teams from just a few years back.

I understand maybe one Grizzlies team, but two? That's the part that confuses me. The 05-06 team won 49 games and got swept by the Mavericks in the first round.

Either way, still pumped because of the new classic team content. Maybe they will sneak the 82-83 76ers in there (if they get rights to Moses).

Andrew Toney too. I think they should not even bother putting that team without him. 67 76ers would be a huge addition too. If they don't add any of those, I can totally see the Sixers All-time team without Hal Greer, Andrew Toney, Charles Barkley, Billy Cunningham and Moses Malone, which would be a travesty
