Well, different arenas have different lighting, so that's actually a really good thing. Colors in real life don't look the same in different lighting conditions.

True, it's cool to see that detail. However we'll see in a couple of weeks by looking at the actual texture.

I think the biggest example in 2K17 was the Knicks. The jersey texture color was good, but in game, it was too dark.

The detail on the elongated necks is the best part. I wonder if those are adjustable with an inches slider. Longer necks = increase in court vision/team speech abilities.

Also let's not forget that unless the color is blatantly off, the issue might be in you monitor. TN based displays are still very common and even IPS displays might be calibrated improperly.

That's what I've been saying for years (Y) . Me my buddies bought Spyder4Elite as a group buy long time ago and ever since then I re-calibrated all of my monitors and I must say that with some monitors the color accuracy is like day and night when comparing calibrated to non-calibrated.. even the best in business, like top of the line NEC monitors can be slightly off out of the box..

Definitely not. Even if the color on your monitor is off, you can still see that two different colors are not the same.

I've seen monitors that have very messy colors out of the box. I'm not saying that the colors are always perfect (definitely not contesting the Knicks' uniform), but I feel like sometimes people complain about so small differences that it actually might be caused by insufficient display or calibration.

No. Even if you have a display that isn't calibrated, you can look at an image of a jersey online and compare it to the jersey in the game, both images being on the same monitor. While the colors may be inaccurate compared to real life, the comparison isn't real life vs. an image through a computer monitor. It's an image through a computer monitor vs. another image from the same computer monitor. Unless the monitor is literally black and white, you can still differentiate colors just fine on even the shittiest monitor.

I've said this before about 2ks knack for crazy detail in the game but when it comes to jersey accuracy especially on throwbacks, they get really lazy. Looks like on that comparison image they used to use Cleveland's numbers on the nets jerseys

I wonder how the jersey ads work. Like, I'm sure the agreement was that the NBA could use the jerseys with their brand logos in any way they wish, but part of me hopes that 2K had to get permission from the brands, because then they could use those companies for dornas and maybe even stanchions.

Mentioned before in another thread. When reading some financial facts about FIFA (which in the same way had hundreds of brands on jersey but on the other hand still had generic dornas), it seems that is easy to get logos on the uniforms. It costs a lot and it's trickier to use those brands for dornas exposure, stadium ads, etc for some reason. I wouldn't cross my fingers.

There is your problem. You're comparing it to some pictures that were taken under certain conditions, modified and might carry their own profiles.

Let's see... 4 photos, 4 different hues due to various reasons. At least 3 of them are wrong then. How do we tell which one is the correct one? And we are now comparing images through a computer monitor...

The uniforms look incredible compared to 2K17. The ones in 2K17 were so dull and off. They also revised the body types I guess, which makes the graphics look better.

Another small detail that got me interested is that the scoreboards in stadiums look so realistic compared to real-life.

They also fixed the jersey numbers of Nets and Bulls, that's another positive.

Finally you impressed me 2K, since 2K11.
