NBA live 2005 running smoothly?

Postby CarolusXCI on Sat Nov 19, 2016 6:19 am

For some reason it looks like this game has always been choppy. Of course, after a while you get used to it, but after playing modern games (2k17 for example), the difference is huge. However, it seems like the NBA live 08 runs much better, although both 2005 and 08 are running at +60 fps according to fraps. Does anyone know if there's a thing that can be done to mitigate this problem?

NBA Live 2005 is supposed to be this choppy. I believe it caps at 30, but the animations are a bit too overdone. I recommend the 06 Animation mod that Cpt (K) found and uploaded recently. I enjoy that one more.

It's never felt choppy to me, but it stands to reason that it's inferior in some ways to its successors, and to games that came out over a decade later. ;)

this game also suffers from microstutter i experienced earlier with nba live 2004.

also, .exe process doesn't quit when you exit game, it stays active.

i'm also playing nhl 2004, but none of these issues occure with that game. i wonder what is causing these issues with nba live series. :?

The issue with the process not ending when you quit the game is an issue in newer operating systems with NBA Live 2005-08. It's a simple matter of ending the process through the Task Manager, though I made a batch file that can streamline the process for you: NBA Live 2005 Task Killer (Windows 7 Fix)

I haven't had any issues with framerate though.
