Mickachiste - 1984-1985 roster

Postby mickachiste on Tue Apr 04, 2017 11:40 pm

Hi guys,

This roster is only filled with the 1984-1985 teams. It means Jordan, Barkley, The Dream... as rookies. I tried to get as much informations as I could about this year but I was very limited for many guys. My limitations were very present for the cyberfaces, so you will have doubles and many look-a-like guys. For some of you it can be annoying but for me it's not. As this roster is such a lot of work, I will really appreciate critics and most of all, help !!!

To get it accurate, I changed courts, logos and jerseys. Some of these were created by guys from the forum. I provide the credits at the end of the article.

TEAMS
All of them are the currents teams exept the Sonics that you have to look in the classics. Grizzlies, Heat, Hornets, Magic, Pelicans, Raptors and Wolves are filled with created and really shit players.

PLAYERS
To begin you can go with the UFDR mod pack from D43 as I use his great roster as a base. I will provide my own file later for the players (I use current players without tatous). Shoes, accessories and contracts should be ok. I didn't work on portraits, sorry... But you can help me ;-)

COURTS
http://www.mediafire.com/file/rz7r5qhxp ... courts.zip
To create some courts, I used a base provided by Isis and finded the designs in this great database https://www.flickr.com/photos/8179152@N ... 2177646900

LOGOS
http://www.mediafire.com/file/k02wsno0p ... _logos.zip
With these files, all the logos will be accurate. The 3d models stay the same as it is too much for me !

UNIFORMS
http://www.mediafire.com/file/o8gct2zyf ... iforms.zip
Some of them are created by PeacemanNot, others by myself using the extras from the current teams. I tried to create the Sonics uniforms, but as you could see, it's not good at all. So any help would be really appreciated !

DORNAS
To be realesed soon !
Yeah you will have it ! Some teams are already done but I need to work on it a bit more !

DRAFT
1985 will be ready in a few days. Just be patient !

Slidders are realesed. I used the ones that i played with when i was on xbox1. I adjusted the foul frequencies just to make it more accurate, that way the game won't stop everytime a guy try to touch you... I miss so much that time when basketball was much more physical

Just some tips.

Put body sensitivity at 0 for both user and cpu, game speed at 55, and make sure have CPU reach in fouls at 5. The CPU causes so many reach in fouls that you cant control when its up higher than that, and sometimes in big moments.

Also, the defense gather and release for CPU and USER, put it at 25 each. That way not everything is a protected shot.

Also, ball handling at 65... so your players don't lose the ball like a bunch of 8 years olds learning how to play.

Just a few things that worked for me.

Hello, excuse me I am new to 2k17. I played 2k14 till now, and I wonder how to play this mod. Everything about games interface is so different to me now. I downloaded all files, I put them in to the "Modded" directory, but I do not see any roster files. How to load this roster and how to play it? Thanks a lot.

It's listed at the bottom of the first post.
You have to download the roster while in game. That is the way most of the mods are these days that require you download a roster.

Thanx for the release ;)

This mod is pretty good, but it's unfinished business (long short, portraits, draft(s)...)

Any news ?

I had the pleasure to experience the ultimate base roster for 2k14. I would love nothing more than something like that for 2k17 next gen. I have experience in design and using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator. I have a background in building websites also. I'm not sure if that would help but my Photoshop skills could come in handy and I'm not oppose to learning something new. I would love to help get more retro rosters out like this.

Barkley was never #4 for the 76ers. That year he was #34.

The shorts are also not the correct length, they are the default length for the default teams.

Glad he took a crack at a super retro single season roster, not many people had the idea to go that far out.

This is unfinished - but good - business.
Away jersey for 76ers arent good, so i choose classic jerseys with long shorts.

But why even make Barkley number 4 for the 76ers? Even in an unfinished product? Not trying to take away from his work, just a head scratcher.

EDIT: He used my draft roster as a base, so that's why the jerseys etc were not accurate. My draft roster kept all the current teams intact (Because it's designed for that). In regards to Barkleys number, it's possible that he was number 4 on the free agent list, but I checked my roster and he is number 34 on the free agent list... so it's possible it was changed to 4 when he was put on the 76ers? I don't know. Either way, the inconsistencies in the roster exist most likely because he used my draft roster as a base, and that roster wasn't made to be turned into a single season roster.

You don't need CE for that, it's done through Limnonos modifier. You just trade the player to another team, change his number, and trade him back.

Maybe he didn't know how to do that.

It'd be handy to have an option to override retired numbers in-game. It's a good feature to have in general, but it is a little restrictive when it comes to customisation.

It's really good to see you guys playing with my roster !!!

To be honest that the first year I had a pc. So I had to learn everything from scratch... Now i reckon I have a bit more abilities but I still need to learn.
Dee I didn't use CE as I was super hard for me and I was really happy to hav your roster as a base. Thanks a lot for that ;-)
