When my 08 was crashing the past weeks, I decided to lend my hand over to the fancy and great Live 2005!

Note: Sorry this MAY crash (template taken from ludidocs unfortunate thread)

Hey Book_Gazette,

I downloaded your roster update; awesome job on the rosters and ratings, thanks a bunch - it's really enjoyable!

Some player's faces and shoes appear in a bright pink, however. When I downloaded the update I saw you wrote that missing CFs can be downloaded from the 06-08 versions. I tried this, by placing files from 08 "player face" downloads into my sgsm folder, but this made the game crash as soon as I would start a contest. I might have done something wrong here, I'm not exactly the pro in these kinds of things. Think you could help me out?

Cheers!

These faces will and should work if the ebo files are not used. So how to do this is to simply copy all the files and not the ebos

Hope this helps!

So how do you get the matching jerseys and player faces or possibly arena files to go with this? I'm not sure exactly which faces are missing, is there one big player face pack that I can download from the 08 forum because I'm a bit confused as to which facepack from there would match this roster update.

Those NLSC updates seemed to include everything like jerseys and other graphics in the download but the last full one looks like it's around 2012 so I'm just trying to figure out how I can do that and play either the 2015-16 or the 2016-17 season. Could I just install that newest NLSC since it already has most of the graphics then install this roster on top of it and then a newer cyberface file?

I recommend just doing the NLSC update and then looking accordingly for the missing jerseys and cyberfaces. Go to ludidoc's locked thread and look for his downloads and there are more cyberfaces, but you can use any Live 06-08 cyberface as long as the ebo files are not used. I am sorry I can't compact all the cyberface packs as there are too many, but look for relevant ones that updates rookies and also take a look at one of my updates I did for the missing players. Also you can use any one of Magiciangirl06's courts in the Live 06 section and they are stunning and high quality.

Hope this works!

It's also possible to convert headshapes for 06-08 for use with 2005:

Headbands won't be displayed, but otherwise everything will work fine.

A hex editor is a program that allows you to change data instead a file. It can be used to edit text strings, hexadecimal data (hence the name), and so forth. Basically, you open up a file, search for the appropriate data, and change it accordingly.

I've found that HxD is a good one.

Excuse me, but could you explain what the ebo files are?

.ebo files are shape/model files, such as stadiums and player headshapes. .fsh files are textures, such as the faces that go on the head models, the team jerseys, and so forth.

In those respective sections of the Forum and Downloads database. Note that not as many people are releasing new work for those games these days.

It's technically possible in that it can be done, but highly unlikely because not many people are working on updates for games over ten years old that very few people are playing regularly. It's hours upon hours of tedious work for something not a lot of people are going to download. Making a new roster isn't a small request, and not something that can be whipped up in a couple of hours.

Hello, the rosters look realistic and I appreciate the work behind. However, when I start new dynasty with these rosters, some overall players ratings are changed, usually increased significantly. Any idea why it happens and how to fix it?

It depends how the roster was made. If the ratings were changed in the database rather than in-game and haven't been recalculated, then once the new Dynasty game starts and proceeds through training camp, some of the Overall Ratings will get altered accordingly.

The only fix would be going through all the rosters, going into Edit Player for each player, and clicking Done to exit while saving changes (without actually making any changes). This would recalculate any Overall Ratings as necessary, so that they're the same going into the Dynasty as they are after training camp concludes. Or if any ratings look off, going in and making changes to the ratings as needed.

Either way, any fixes - either forcing a recalculation of everyone's Overall Rating, or making ratings adjustments - are done in Edit Player.
