I've threatened to do so many times, but I finally did it. And I feel as free as a former addict/alcoholic.
All you PC players know exactly how miserable MyPark has become. Every year it was the same, the park would be dominated by a few teams of hacker extraordinaires, using Cheat Engine, occupying the four corners of mypark. You couldn't avoid playing them cause they apparently never play each other. Now, most hackers sucked and non hackers like me could beat them regularly. But against the best hackers who play well and in a squad with other supreme hackers, it'd be impossible to beat. Why did it take so long to quit? Well, because the game is EVIL. Every time I'd go on a 10 game losing streak, all to hackers shooting full court shots, the game would let me win 10 in a row against non hackers/crappy hackers. That would draw me back. Since the game's release, these hackers have driven most normal non hackers out of mypark. I stayed because my squad was good enough to actually still win (my W/L record is about 400-200.) But most of the non hacker comp has since left.
The straw that broke the camel's back was when the other team was hitting FULLY DEFENDED contact layups and then I missed a wide open 18 footer. That's the moment when I knew I hit rock bottom and wondered wtf I was still doing. The playing field isn't merely tilted, it's freaking vertical. And "archetypes" played right into these scumbags' hands. Hey, great idea, 2k limiting all the legit players to 70 rated shooting maxed out while the cheaters are 99 everything with all the HOF badges.
I'm done with PC bball. F U 2k.
