Dwyane Wade: All-time great?

Postby [Q] on Tue Dec 13, 2016 3:37 am

People have been sleeping on him the last few years after he took a backseat to LeBron and injuries have slowed him. But there was a bit of resurgence against the hornets in the playoffs last year and I just saw a video of him with a vintage Wade move splitting 2 former teammates on the break and slamming it home.

Is Wade the third best SG of all time? Does he make your Top 5? Or will he continue to be underrated after he retires?

I think he's rated perfectly fine, even as a Heat fan.
Most of the times people put him right behind Jordan and Kobe, if they're not too hung up on the past.

I guess the underrated part comes from being able to defy his physical limitations that came with advanced milage time and time again, which people are not expecting.
It would have been nice if he had been able to keep up the long range shooting he showed at the start of this year.

I think he does get overlooked from time to time. He's definitely an all-time great in general, and if you want to call him third best or at least top five at his position, especially when you're talking about the three-point era, I'd certainly be inclined to agree.

If fans want to rate him top 5, I don't have a problem with that. But he's not Top 3 (Jordan, West, Kobe).

I'd say top three of the modern/three-point era, though.

It's easy for Wade to of being overshadowed in his career because although he's being a star on championship teams he's had HOF teammates in Shaq and LeBron.

Still a HOF player imo though.

He has been always amazing to watch.

The Flash...he is definitely an all-time great. Both on and off the court.
