Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Certainly seems like they're going to use the split and draft to call up some prominent NXT workers.

Apparently his wwe contract had a one-off fight clause. I can only assume that WWE will probably get a McGregor or Rousey at Wrestlemania next year as part of the deal maybe with UFC.

Good call, I wouldn't be surprised if that turned out to be the case. Additionally - or perhaps alternatively - WWE will have a say in who his opponent is.

They certainly can't have him go out there and Lose, that's for sure.

They could, however, if done properly, parlay his fight into a big WWE return two nights later on RAW, or three nights later on SmackDown, which could be a really cool way to bring him back into the fold.

They're already promoting him for Summerslam, though it'll be interesting to see how things go if he does lose.

Also, looks like it's going to be Mark Hunt.

It'll be a risky way to get Roman over that's for sure.

I wonder if they'd do that, have Reigns go over Lesnar clean. Lesnar is overdue to give someone that rub, as his matches have become predictable (and in my view, boring as a result), but I don't see that going over very well.

We should start a pool on when Roman gets pinned clean next. Someone could become very wealthy a few years from now.

How about who gets pinned clean first: Reigns or Lesnar?

Maybe. However, it wouldn't surprise me if he somehow went the rest of his WWE career without really putting anyone over.

American Alpha are (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y) , as is Nakamura. I didn't catch the opener, but both those matches out shined the Main Event last night, by a considerable margin.

At this point I'm assuming Finn will show up at mitb to reform the balor club and attack Cena.

Nakamura should get into a program with Joe and lose (like finn to Owens) and eventually take it after he learns how main event programs are run in WWE.

Havent been here in a bit but I dont think Lesnar is going to "make" anyone anymore. Casual fans already consider Roman good. I'm just waiting on the brandsplit and hoping for the best. I tend to like a lot of the undercard guys so I"m excited this may mean more of them will be getting significant screen time

I was underwhelmed by Takeover but apparently I'm way in the minority.

Same for me. Really enjoyed the tag match, but the rest was only solid. Dallas set the bar waaaay to high, and Full Sail's shills of a crowd didn't help.

Most of the early takeovers set the bar way too high. There's been a LOT of talent who came in and didnt stick around and I feel like NXT is suffering because of it.

I wouldn't say underwhelmed would be the best word for me. I mean, they were are quality matches that are still way better than what you see on Raw & SD. I agree the bar has been set way too high but yeah it's gonna be tough to continue to have great matches like that while continuing to lose the best talent.

Yeah I'd agree there. Its still better than smackdown and raw for the most part, but when you had the likes of the Zayn Owens Rivalry, Neville, Breeze, Apollo, and soon to be Finn all moving up so quickly, there's a lurch where the developmental guys aren't quite ready.

Sometimes the internet wrestling community is dumb. A guy with 13k followers on twitter is saying they're going to scrap the US and IC belts after the brand split :shake:

So who yall got this weekend? Here's my guesses:
Golden Truth-Its preshow and I love Fabreeze, but Vince doesnt.
Lucha-Dudleyz are useless since their come back
Sheamus-There's no story if Apollo comes in and dominates. What do you do with baby faces? give them a comeback to defeat all odds
Corbin-Ziggler never wins
New Day-It could go to E&C or the Club but I think they leave it on New Day
Dana/Charlotte-No point in putting over Natty and Becks. Build Dana here.
Rusev-Titus with a belt?
AJ-Cena comeback story
Owens-As long as its not Y2J or ADR i'm good
Reigns-Gotta make him look strong. Theyll see a way to legitimize him here.

I'll go with...

Dudley Boyz over Lucha Dragons, because it's the pre-show, and just to build heat.
The Golden Truth over Breezango, to have a babyface victory on the pre-show.
Apollo Crews over Sheamus, to build the former.
Baron Corbin over Dolph Ziggler, for the same reason.
Charlotte & Dana Brooke over Natlaya & Becky Lynch, to further establish Dana and because I don't think they'll ever really push Natalya again.
The New Day over the three other teams, because they're still way over.
Rusev over Titus O'Neil, to keep the belt on a heel, and further punish Titus, because that's Vince McMahon for ya.
Kevin Owens over the rest of the MITB participants, with Dean Ambrose being the guy that comes up short just before Owens gets the briefcase.
Cena wins LOL...though, I'm not as confident as I usually am in that prediction.
Reigns over Rollins with some kind of dirty finish.

Lucha Dragons over Dudleys
FaBreeze over Truth
Crews over Sheamus
Corbin over Ziggler w/ Injury angle
Charlotte & Dana over Natty and Becky
Rusev over Titus
The Club over all
Cena beats AJ
Ambrose with the briefcase
Reigns wins clean
Ambrose cash-in, Reigns wins clean
Opinions are my own.
