Can someone please help understand how I can install this 1992 2k11 mod. Again I think I just need to understand where to place download files. Dudes I'm so excited to try this. Ive waited years in hope for something like this for 2k11.....I hope im installing everything that I need to have this mod. Or am I missing something. Do I need a modding tool in order for this to work?

I downloaded everything from here.

That's a multi-part .7z archive. .7z files open up with 7-Zip, but I believe you'll need to join those files with a program like HJSplit first.

From there, it's a matter of extracting the files in the archive to the save folder (roster) and main game folder (art files). I'm guessing there'll be some instructions included in the archive, so as I said, you'll likely need to re-join them with HJSplit first. More info on using HJSplit can be found here.

Ok I think I need serious help. I did use the hjsplit tool. And I think I got it to work because it gave me all these files. My problem is that I think the files need to be IFF files. I'm just confused. Why is there no tutorial on this?

Comon guys, there has to be something in here that explains how to install these mods.

Please help

Did it give you .7z files? As I said, those are 7-Zip archives, which likely contain the .iff files and other required assets for the mod.

No, you don't need to change any files into .iff files. You should have archives that contain .iff files, and any other assets for the mod.

Looking into it, if the mod you're using is this one: viewtopic.php?f=136&t=77242

Then it looks like all you need to do is install 7-Zip, and presumably open the first file (NBA2K11_mod_91-92.7z.001). As long as you've downloaded all the parts - which it appears you have - all the files should be there to extract. You might want to delete all those files that HJSplit created though, as they might just cause problems.

For more information, I'd consult the above thread (once again assuming that's the mod you're using).

@Andrew

Hows it going. You ask if I'm using that mod page you showed. Well that's what I'm aiming for. I wasent able to download from that particular page because it seems the downloads are no longer available. So I went to your 2k11 download page located here....... downloads.php?cat=15.....and I got the downloads from there. I downloaded all the 1991/92 files which were a total of 5 files.

Ok you said all I have to do is install a program called 7-Zip? Do I need to install this program?

Btw I notice that JaoSming was once involved maybe with these mods. Do you think he has a video showing this tutorial?

I'm so desperate to get this.

thanks

Yes, install 7-Zip. Again, it is the program that is used to open .7z archives.

It looks like it. When I saw the .001 etc extensions, I thought they might have to be joined with HJSplit, but apparently 7-Zip can take care of everything as long as you have all parts of the archive, which you did. Glad to hear that it worked!

Wow this is so freaking amazing man. How did I miss this. Thanks a lot again.

Well it seems a lot of these great mods on this page are long gone. But I will search threw everything to see if any more mods are alive in here. 2k11 is sooooo much better than 2k16. I love this game. The only reason I stopped playing this game back in 2011 was because of the patches 2k gave out..I never knew it came out on the PC..Everything on the PC is just better...This game will always be my first. My top 10

Sadly a lot of great releases have gone missing over the years, for NBA 2K and NBA Live PC, before we could offer readily available upload services. We like to do what we can to recover old releases, but it usually relies on people who have them in their personal collections/backups being around to upload them again.
