New York - The Los Angeles Lakers General Manager Kevin Parker managed to give a convincing pitch on the deal that traded away their 21st, 22nd Pick and Rashad Vaughn to the 76ers for only their 3rd Pick. Majority of the Lakers fans seem to like the deal as they think adding Brown's talent to LA will make them a better playoff team overall. The Lakers used their 8th pick on the 18 year old forward from Arkansas, Ivan Rabb. Rabb was projected to be in the Top 5 but somehow slipped to the Lakers' hands. The summary of the trade is listed below:
Lakers get:
3rd Pick (Jaylen Brown)

Rashad Vaughn

Tell me one good reason why not to pick Davis?Kevin wrote:I NEED HELP GUYS. I'm starting in Free Agency and I just offered Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond contracts and they both accepted my offers. Who should I pick? DAVIS IS THE RIGHT ANSWER HERE RIGHT?

Michael_OS, I'll think about it.Michael_OS wrote:Do it before another team does!
PS: not happy with the Embiid trade
Michael_OS wrote:I think you sold out too much on the trade. Should've just traded carroll and young.

El Segundo, Calif. - The Lakers' bait seem to have finally worked as they signed Anthony Davis this Friday afternoon, hours just after the contract negotiations.
General Manager Kevin Parker Sr. spoke to the media about the signing.
"We've been waiting too long for this to happen. Anthony (Davis) has been our top priority in Free Agency and we managed to land him. We are excited for him to play infront of the Lakers crowd this upcoming season."
And when asked about the Lakers' playoffs chances, he replied, "Yes, I know we got lucky last season with the injuries to Eric Bledsoe and John Wall in the middle of the season that made their respective teams slow down. Now, it's different. We have Mudiay, Oubre, Antetokounmpo, Randle, and Davis. That's one of the best and certainly the youngest lineup you'll ever see play in the basketball court. Bottomline is, they are young, great players that is hungry for that title."
The media also had a chance to interview Anthony Davis after the signing.
M: Was it difficult to choose between the Pelicans and the Lakers?
AD: At first, yes. But when Mr. Parker talked to me, he assured that they will take care of me here in LA and he promised me success, unlike the Pelicans where we are still rebuilding even way before my rookie season.
M: Fair enough. Have you met or talked to any of your new teammates now?
AD: So far, only Kobe (Bryant) and Julius (Randle) talked to me. They were actually there in the room where we made the deal. They thanked and congratulated me as soon as I sad, 'Yes.' to the offer.
M: What is your goal coming in this season?
AD: Making the playoffs is a nice start. I've never had any playoff experience so making the playoffs would be nice. I also would want to see us at least get past the first round of the playoffs, too.
El Segundo, Calif. - The Lakers needed a backup for Davis and Randle and they think bringin Jordan Hill back is a good fit for them. The Lakers traded him away to the 76ers last December for Porzingis and Embiid. Hill seems to still be reluctant to sign with LA and no bad blood was reported by the media between both sides as of now.
He agreed to a 3 year-$15M deal and a Play Option in his fourth year. Hill averaged 10.3 ppg and 7 rpg when with the Lakers last season as a starter.
El Segundo, Calif. - Yes, you've heard it right. Odom, who last played for the Clippers in the '12-'13 season, is coming back to LA where he won 2 titles alongside Kobe Bryant in 2009 and 2010. The Lakers are stoked with this deal and is expected so raise morale in the locker room.
Odom agreed to a 1 year/$2M deal with the Lakers just this afternoon.

New York - The Lakers' new recruits seem to fit perfectly with the new system that they are being taught. There's been some positive feedbacks on the system that Coach Scott is implementing for next season that focuses on Points in the Paint rather than shooting beyond the arc like last season.
The Lakers are going to be a fun team to watch this upcoming season with the additions of Antetokounmpo, Davis, Hill, and Odom.
