I think the divison thing is interesting. Due to the fact that Pistons and Pacers are in the same divison one of them is going to get bumped to the 4th seed. Homecourt goes by wins, not seeding, this year. But if Pacers get 4th seed and Pistons get #1 then we might see a Pacers/Pistons rematch in the semi-finals.

I really hope not. Sorry but the best basketball I saw all of last year was the IND-DET series. It was the NBA Finals for me. Lots of people think defensive struggles like the games were are boring, but the intensity level was so incredibly high and I love watching good defense.

Unfortunately that will remain the case as long as both teams are in the Central Division and each division winner is assured a top three seed.

My picks will probably change pending further movement this offseason, but here's my early prediction:

East
1. Pistons
2. Heat
3. Celtics
4. Pacers
5. Bucks
6. Knicks
7. Nets
8. Magic

West
1. Timberwolves
2. Spurs
3. Kings
4. Mavericks
5. Nuggets
6. Lakers
7. Rockets
8. Hornets

I think the Grizzlies, Jazz and Blazers could probably steal one of those bottom three seeds though - the West is always difficult to pick, especially the last couple of spots.

East

1. Pistons
2. Heat
3. Celtics
4. Pacers
5. Magic
6. 76ers
7. Knicks
8. Raptors

West

1. Spurs
2. Wolves
3. Kings
4. Mavs
5. Rockets
6. Nuggets
7. Lakers
8. Griz

if it does end this way the first round match ups might be interesting. get to see the wolves and lakers rematch. a heat/knicks match in first round(maybe even a fight or 2). i love watching the celts and 76ers go at it if only to remember the past. finally a mavs/rockets battle would be damn fun for me to watch. i guess in all honesty i just love basketball and like almost any match up lol.

one more note, i tried to think of ways that the lakers would miss the playoffs but i could not. i dont think they have a snowballs chance in hell to make it into round 2 but i am sure kobe and the new kids can bring them to top 8 in west. i also tried to get the suns in there if only to justify nashes contract, but i could not.

Your playoff predictions CAN'T happen because Detroit and Indiana are in the same division and Nuggets and Twolves.

That's because other people did it too and I don't think nobody mentioned that the division winners get the 1st 3 playoff spots.
