Like PRoPuLsiOnDJ said...

how did you get Zach Randolph to win the MIP? Doesn't Live have a glitch there? Evertime I run my dynasty, the MIP usually averages like 0.9 ppg, and 1.3 rpg. If there's a patch to fix this, please let me know. Thanks.

Id love to know also.

don't know too. maybe it has something to do by editing the all players stats, when i go to playoff either raja bell, pargo and randolph won the MIP.

that was 3 screenshots, i just copy and paste it.

about the strength and weakness, yeah i somehow research it, i run an off-season, look at scouting report and list some strength and weakness that will appropriate to vujacic and douthit (profile of this 2 in nba, com).
like example a player has a strength1 of being a goodballhandler and another player strength3 was an excellent shooter. then i go to dbf viewer and see what correspond number correspond to that strength.

Next free-agent signing....

"We're ecstatic to have Rudy Tomjanovich as our new head coach," said Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss. "He is a proven winner who has led his teams to two NBA championships and I am confident he will carry that success over to the Lakers. He is well-liked and well-respected by everyone in the business and we look forward to having him lead us into the future."

In the ensuing year Tomjanovich led the team to its first NBA championship. He repeated this feat again the following season, earning back-to-back championships for the first time in the club's history.

During the 2000 Summer Olympics, Tomjanovich guided the team to a gold medal while posting an undefeated record in Sydney. Prior to the Olympics, Tomjanovich also coached a group of non-NBA players to a bronze medal in the 1988 World Championship of Basketball.

While serving as the Rockets head coach Tomjanovich received numerous accolades including being named head coach of the Western Conference team for the 1997 NBA All-Star Game. Kobe Signs Contract To Remain With Lakers

Image

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., July 15 -- The Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agent guard Kobe Bryant to a contract, it was announced today by General Manager Mitch Kupchak. Per team policy terms of the contract were not released.

Bryant, who has been a free agent since July 1, opted out of the final year of his previous contract at the conclusion of the 2003-04 season.
"Re-signing Kobe was the top priority for our team going into this off-season, so this obviously is a very happy day for the Lakers and our fans," said Kupchak. "We feel Kobe is the best all-around player in the NBA, and at age 25, still not even in his prime, so signing him to this contract gives us a solid foundation as we work to rebuild our roster and remain a premier team for years to come."

Last season, Bryant averaged 24.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game while ranking among league leaders in points (4th/24.0), free throw percentage (18th/.852) and minutes per game (23rd/37.6). Named a starter in the 53rd NBA All-Star game after receiving the second most votes in the Western Conference, Bryant was also selected All-NBA First Team and earned All-NBA Defensive First Team honors as well.
In the final game of the regular season at Portland, Bryant tallied 37 points including a pair of three-pointers, the first sending the game into overtime, the second coming with no time remaining in double-overtime to clinch the victory as well as the Pacific Division Title.

In addition to recording his ninth career triple-double 2/28/04 at Washington with 29 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists, Bryant recorded the 30th 40-plus point game of his career 4/13/04 vs. Golden State. In that contest, Bryant tied a franchise record with 10 free-throws in the final quarter against the Warriors.

Among his accolades, Bryant has earned All-NBA honors in each of the last six seasons (First Team in 2002, 2003 and 2004; Second Team in 2000 and 2001; Third Team in 1999) as well as being named to the NBA’s All-Defensive Team in each of the past five seasons (First Team in 2000, 2003 and 2004; Second Team in 2001 and 2002). A starter in each of the last six All-Star Games, Bryant earned MVP honors at the 2002 contest in his hometown of Philadelphia. Named Western Conference Player of the Month on three occasions while earning Western Conference Player of the Week honors nine times, Bryant is also a two-time winner of NBA Player of the Week honors and has one NBA Player of the Month award for December of 2000.

During the 2002-03 campaign, Bryant established a new NBA record with 12 three-pointers in a single game 1/7/03 vs. Seattle while tying an NBA record later that season with eight three-point field goals in a single half 3/28/03 vs. Washington. During the same season, he became only the third player in NBA history to average 40 or more points in a month with a 40.6 ppg average for the month of February.

Originally acquired by the Lakers from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Vlade Divac on July 11, 1996 after being selected by the Hornets with the 13th overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft, Bryant is the youngest player in NBA history to reach the 10,000-point plateau and ranks among Lakers franchise leaders in points (9th/12,215), field goals made (10th/4,317), three point field goals made (3rd/488), free throws made (5th/3,093) and assists (10th/2,390).

L.A. gets Mihm, Atkins, Jones in deal
Payton, Fox to Beantown

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Aug 6 -- The rebuilding Lakers, in need of a big man since trading Shaquille O'Neal to Miami, had to give up Gary Payton to get one.

Los Angeles resumed its makeover Friday by trading Payton and Rick Fox to the Boston Celtics for Chris Mihm, Chucky Atkins and Jumaine Jones.

Image

"We got a true backup center [Mihm] who can probably play a little bit of power forward, and we got much younger in the backcourt," Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said.
The Celtics also received a conditional first-round draft pick and cash in the deal.

"As you know, we have made some dramatic changes," Kupchak said in understatement.

"We're hopeful, with the changes and the younger players, that we put ourselves in the position where we don't have to experience four or five years of mediocrity," Kupchak said.

"Hopefully, we'll be in a position to make the playoffs right away, advance in the playoffs, and at the same time have a good mix of young players who may be with us the next 10 years."
Payton and Karl Malone took large pay cuts to join the Lakers as free agents last summer, each All-Star hoping to win his first championship.
Kupchak said he had spoken with Payton's agent earlier Friday, and had a phone conversation with Fox.

"As you would expect, [the players] were both disappointed to be in a position where they have to move on," Kupchak said. "This is the business part of what we do.
"It was an opportunity to pick up three players, all of whom are younger than the other two players in the deal."

Mitch Kupchak resigns as Lakers' general manager

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Aug 23 -- The Los Angeles Lakers announced Monday that Mitch Kupchak has resigned as general manager of Los Angeles Lakers. This news was a big surprise for the Lakers front office.
“The board of directors made a very difficult decision to accept Kupchak resignation. We feel that Mitch have done a wonderful job in his 4 years tenure as GM,” said Rambis. “Kupchak assumed the general manager’s duties after Jerry West resigned and in the next two years we still won the NBA championship”.

He was also credited for the signing two future Hall of Fame, Malone and Payton, last year.

A source cited that the reason of sudden resignation of Mitch was due to stress he have since the Lakers lost to Detroit in the NBA Finals:

In the past few weeks Mitch made some radical off-season move:

• O’Neal accepted a trade in early July, with Los Angeles receiving guard Caron Butler, forwards Lamar Odom and Brian Grant and a future draft pick from the Heat.
• Tomjanovich succeeded Phil Jackson as coach, but only after Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski turned down the Lakers' multiyear offer. The Lakers announced three days after losing to the Pistons that Jackson would not be returning
• Kobe Bryant flirted with the Clippers as an unrestricted free agent before re-signing with the Lakers for more than $136.4 million over seven years.
• Fisher, frustrated with losing playing time to Payton, opted out of the final two years of his deal and signed with the Warriors.
• Payton along with Fox and a future draft pick was traded to rival-Celtics for Mihm, Atkins and Banks and second round draft pick. But later amended that saw Banks and the 2nd round pick going back to Boston in exchange for seldom-used Jumaine Jones.

He relinquishes his general manager position effective immediately, but will assist the organization through the initial transition period.

“We have asked Mitch to assist us through the transition period. Our search for a new general manager will commence immediately,” Rambis added. “

A guy named Micchy_Boy Joins Lakers

Image

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Aug 31 -- The Los Angeles Lakers announced Wednesday that Russel “Micchy_boy” Santos has joined the basketball operations staff as the new general manager. He will replace Mitch Kupchak who resigns a few days back.

We feel it’s time for a fresh new perspective to take us back to the next level,” said Rambis. “Micchy will assume the general manager’s duties at rebuilding times of the franchise. He will oversee NBA personnel and focus on free agents and trades.

Only few have known about this guy. Micchy was a former head coach of Purefoods TJ Hotdogs in PBA, a 30-years league in Philippines. He has served as an assistant coach of the Hotdogs from 1988 to 1989. He assumed the head coaching job after that year and stirred the Purefoods for 4 championships. In 1998 he retired as coach and since then served as the team manager of Purefoods.

In addition to his franchise responsibilities, Micchy has directed the PBA Pre-Draft Camp since 1999 and has served as an assistant coach and team scout of Philippines team in 1998 and 2002 Asian Games. And most of all, Micchy was a NBA Live Gamers since 1997.

“I’m so grateful and honor to be part of one of the best franchise in NBA history.” said Micchy Boy. “I know being Lakers GM, everyone will be looking at you, every move you make. You’re always on the spotlight. “
Everybody expect you to win coz you’re in Lakers but also many will like you to fail.”

Asked about his future plans for the team, he said that having 5 small forward (Odom, Butler, George, Walton and Jones) is a no-no in NBA. “Expect to see some more changes in Lakers roster.” But Micchy never tell who will be dealt next. “Coach Rudy T and I will meet again tomorrow and will start to evaluate every player and come up with the best group of guys we can assemble,”

 NICE!

After the no Marcus Banks thing, I've wanted Mitch fired.

Are all your off-season moves done?

Almost, just trying to put some decent free-agent to weak team to make it more competetive.

Some fantasy trade coming soon....

Lakers trade George in 3-team NBA swap
Slava and Cook also dealt

Image

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sep 11 -- The Los Angeles Lakers traded forward Devean George as part of a three-team National Basketball Association deal with New York and Portland here Saturday.

This will be the first move of GM Micchy Boy after taking over the GM post more than a week ago. A trade was expected and waited by everybody. But still gave a big surprise to everybody coz he traded players that many thought were untouchable. George played 5 years and a vital part of the Lakers tean that won the Championship in 2001 and 2002. Medvedenko also a member of the 2001 and 2002 Lakers team has just re-signed with the team last month. With the trade, Kobe will be the lone player that won 3 rings in the last 5 years.

"I inherited a situation that wasn't good," Micchy said. "We came from a title contender to a possible playoff team and even worst a lottery team. I’m in the position that winning the NBA trophy is a success. Other than that it only means failure. And I’m a winner and hate losing."

George, along with Cook went to Portland while New York obtained center/forward Slava Medvedenko from Los Angeles and rookie-forward Viktor Khryapa from the Blazers while the Lakers landed point guard Damon Stoudamire (Portland) and center/forward Vin Baker.

"It was a very tough trade for us, losing Devean," Thomas said. "It probably was one of my most difficult trades because of my fondness for Devean. But this trade really helps us to fill our team need which was the point guard position.”

Lakers wouldn’t have a problem if they got Banks instead of another small forward, a source said. They have 5 small forward but only 1 natural point guard. Bryant, Rush and Vujacic can handle the ball but were all effective as an off-guard.

"I'm not so sure that if Vin Baker wasn't in the deal we would have traded George."

"The team did something they felt they had to do," Blazers All-Star forward Shareef Abdur-rahim said.

"I enjoyed playing with Damon and I'm sure I'll enjoy playing with Devean. He may be another version of Daruis Miles - versatile. He can slash to the basket and shoot the three."

Stoudamire departure was ready expected as Portland drafted Telfair - a young point guard with lot of potential and trading Davis nad Dickau to get another pointguard - Nick Van-Exel.

Baker, will give them a muscle inside that Slava and Cook lacks. Both Slava and Cook are guys who were more comfortable in playing outside. Baker will help the team more in frontline defense and will back-up Grant and Divac

"Vin is a strong frontcourt player who will help us with rebounding and interior defense," Damon said.

The Lakers have a busy summer moves that included trading of Shaq, departure of Fisher, hiring a new coach, and that Payton trade that leads to resigning of GM Kupchak.

"The things that I'm trying to accomplish are things I think will benefit the organization immediately and in the future," Lakers general manager Micchy Santos said. "I feel the moves will help us rebuild the franchise and be a contender at the same time"

Lakers signs Slovenian Center

Image

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sept 19 -- The Los Angeles Lakers today have signed Slovenian center Primoz Brezec to a one-year contract with a team option the next year.
Brezec, 24, spent most of last season on the injured list. He averaged 1.6 points and 0.8 rebounds in 18 games last year and has averaged 1.8 points and 1.1 rebounds in his 62-game career.

While his production was not impressive, the Pacers had spent three years trying to develop Brezec, who has respectable agility for a player his size, into a serviceable center.

During summer league, Primoz show signs that he is ready to contribute. He is an excellent shooter who has added bulk to bang inside. Primoz has dramatically improved his rebounding skills and his defensive prowess.

The Pacers selected Brezec with the 27th overall pick in 2000. He spent one more year in Slovenia before coming to Indiana for the 2001-02 season

Lakers, Sixers Swap Jones, Korver

Image

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Oct 12 -- The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired guard/forward Kyle Korver from the Philadelphia Sixers in exchange for forward Jumaine Jones.

“Obviously we’re still grinding trying to do everything we can to make the team better. Shooting have really become the priority because we feel like the frontline is in pretty good shape, said GM Micchy
On the surface, the deal appears to help both teams. The Lakers sorely needed outside shooting while the Sixers need just about defense and energy from the bench.

The deal had been in the works for several days, but could not be completed until today, 60 days after Lakers acquired Jones from Boston.
Jones together with Atkins and Mihm was dealt to Lakers in exchange for Payton and Fox last Aug 6. He averaged 6.3 points and 4 rebounds in 5 years in NBA playing 2 seasons in Philly, 2 seasons for the Cavaliers and last season at Boston

On the other hand, Korver was a 2nd round draft by New Jersey Nets and was dealt to the Sixers for an undisclosed amount of cash. He became the first rookie to ever participate in the Foot Locker 3-Point Shootout, and finished third in 2004. He average 4.5 points and 395 from the 3pt line.

"It's a deal we thought would have long-term implications for us," said Lakers general manager Micchy.

Note:All my trading and signing were run through the “TRADE PLAYERS” and “SIGN FREE AGENT” menu. No cheats whatsoever. So I guess it was a fair deal for me and the CPU.
