Here are some great links to some Iowa State Cyclone throwbacks that could be included. Maybe these illustrations will make it nice and easy to use them?

This is from when coach Fred Hoiberg played. Great looking classic uniforms.

These are the uniforms from arguably the best Iowa State team of all time in 2000. They went to the elite eight, where they lost in a crazy game to the eventual National Champs, Michigan State. Iowa State was clearly the 2nd best team in the nation that year, despite losing in the round of 8.

These uniforms from 2005 don't offer much history, just a 2nd round NCAA tournament. However, I like these because they were the last jerseys that were in the College Hoops 2K franchise.

And here are their current uniforms. Early indication is the uniforms will be the same as last year. Note the 'JO' patch on the jerseys, which was placed after legendary coach Johnny Orr passed last winter. I'm not sure if the patch will be worn this season or not.

Also, here is the Iowa State new court design. Some minor changes, like the new Big 12 logo, Twitter handle, Hilton Coliseum at the bottom of the court instead of the top.

We're sticking with 2K14 for now. My anticipation is that it'll be a little while before we can really fully mod 2K15. (Y)

I was messing around with association mode trying really hard to find a way to emulate a college game. Here are a few ideas I had. In all cases all 30 teams would need to be controlled by user and some staff task needed to be automated.


Years Pro could be used for the players age. The actual words "Years Pro" could be changed to Age using RED MC's InGame Text Editor.
The original age attribute could then be changed to something like "Declare for Draft" since the original age value is the biggest factor in players retiring. Players usually retire when this value gets around 34- 36 some stay longer, some retire before that.
The retired players would be equivalent to players leaving to go pro. There are a lot of reason's this still would not work. One reason being the draft.
Another reason is Years pro for each draft class could be used for age as each this value will always equal 1 for rookies. There were many other reasons this did not work out.

I then simulated an association with becoming a free agent being equivalent to graduating/ going pro. In this case I made most of the contracts 1 year contracts or contracts with player options, so players could choose to leave or stay. This worked somewhat but the contract aspect makes players stay too long such as 99 rated freshman would leave for nba in real life but in game he would only leave if it was last year of his contract or if he had a bad contract and it was an option year. Also the Free agents were sometimes signed for the minimum by the CPU, but some of the signed free agents were supposed to represent players who had "Declared for draft" or "graduated".

I'm still trying to think of a way to utilise association with college mod but i need better Ideas. The challenges I face are :
Getting players to retire after 4/5 years.
Bad teams always get the best rookies/ freshman due to the draft order

If we could get the logic to work correctly in our favor this mod would be truly great.

The latter. It may be awhile before 2K15 is able to be modded, especially to this degree.

Will this mod overwrite any original files? Will I still be able to play 2k14, or will it all be college ball 2k15?

The version I'm uploading will be the "full" version, if anyone wants to separate the versions you can use a mod manager, or someone could put files into a "lite version".

The amount of work both in the roster, and re-naming files, etc. makes a 'Lite' Version totally not worth it. Stick with the Full. (Y) (Y)

How do you delete players from the roster?

For instance, Oregon only has 10 players on their roster, but have 14 slots assigned to them. I know they need 12. So I have 2 players rated in the 30's with 0 minutes assigned named Transfer Gone and No Player, but there is still two slots to delete.

I tried assigning players to other schools by changing the team ID, but that just made it so they were still on Oregon but their portrait had the assigned schools logos, and when trying to assign in the game it would say "player already assigned to that team".

You need to go to the teams tab in RED MC and change number of players on team to 12 the for R13 and R14 use "-1" value. This should remove the players from the team.

Thanks for the info.

The roster is basically done. I am now just going through and updating #s and height/weight. I started these in July and needless to say some rosters have changed. I'm about half way through the re-edit, to ensure that rosters are accurate. I haverrotations done as well, however I need to watch some games to build the most accurate rotations. I created the new Arizona jerseys and did cyberfaces for all the Wildcats. I'm really impressed with how this turned out. There are no random faves , every player has a cyber face look alike with realistic hairstyles. I also resigned the divisions to include all the top 25 test in the current AP poll, that were included in the original mod.These divisions are also based on geographic region/ conferences. For instance the West pacific division has Arizona, UCLA, Oregon, San Diego St and Gonzaga and the East Atlantic has Duke, Syracuse, North Carolina, Virginia and UCONN. This will be nice for those like me that want to play association/season. This way if you play the schedules of more than 29 games you will play your division teams more times.

I will most likely release this a couple weeks into the college season just for the sake of building rotations and updating gear, other than those the roster will be finished in a week or two at the most.

droc81yo is doing all the heavy lifting here. Once the roster is primed and good to go, then you can start getting cute and trying to get more CFs added, updating courts and uniforms, so on and so forth.

Also, droc81yo, you do not need to include those 11th and 12th scrubs on Oregon. You are allowed to have 10 players on a team using RED MC. You can have as few as 6 players, like I had in NBA JAM Mod. Just do what TGsoGood said, and make sure that you have all the slots properly filled for 10 players (and the different rotations -- I just made them all the same).

Thanks bigh0rt, I'll just include the 10 players. I believe there are 40 teams. (I have not added any teams from the last mod).
Also the Oubre cf looks really good, I don't remember who created it, but they gave me permission to use about 5 that are incoming freshman.I look through my PMs and credit them when I release this.

Roster is done finally! Still have rotations, which are hard to do until some meaningful games are played. have learned college kids get into a lot of trouble, lol. Didn't get a key for the teams tab in RED MC originally, and it's down now so I may need someone who was the teams tab to edit the divisions ( I have a list of where to put the teams) Other than that, it's good to go. I'll update rotations and have this out soon.

Once this is released I will run some tests with making this mod use all generic players. If this works out I will try making a roster with only youtube commentators' MyPlayers and community member, no real players. But first I want to check out this mod.
