Kings breaking a part?

pretty good read....webber seems to be the main trouble maker, we all remembered how good the kings were without him. With all the superstars being traded so far, I wouldn't be suprised if Webber is next. I guess a VC for Webber ( maybe more players) rumors will start popping up too

it is a good read and i agree with alot of it. webber seems to be the cancer holding this team down(that and peja cant shoot in the playoffs). the kings had thier chance at a title and they let it slip away, but by no means is the ship sinking to fast to save. like the article says, make a couple key trades and jump under the cap. in 2-3 years you can easily be right back on top of the league and makeing another 3-4 year run at it.

Their nothing more than the Philadelphia Eagles of the NBA, they always have a great team but can never take the next step. I think their time is up with teams like Houston, Denver, San Antonio and Phoenix making great strides in the offseason.

Webber should have left Sacremento a long time ago, for the past few years he has been nothing but trouble for the kings and yes he has been most of the problem......it makes me sad to see how the kings are turning out this offseason

Yea he is more skilled, but i say he goes and peja stays, but im not the owner or GM and peja wants out so that wouldnt work

I have to agree, the Kings appear to have gone as far as they can with their current cast. It's time to make some changes and C-Webb seems like the best player to trade, although it will be difficult to do so. I agree that the Kings might have to sacrifice Webber for a lesser player with potential or a few players who might not be of equal value in terms of talent or accomplishments, but will be a better fit and should be better in a couple of years time.

I think either Bibby or Jackson has to go. Jackson is a starter, he's too good to be on the bench. Bibby won't be benched obviously. I'd keep Jackson (small contract and better player IMO) and deal Bibby.

imo does make some sense for the 3 teams...

sacto gets something pretty good for a disgruntled peja. marion is the better player overall and would be a nice fit in sacramento's system. it's possible he's the one that's expendable of the 3 guard trio in phx.

the sun's get a center to pair w/the manchild. curry gets a much needed fresh start, doesn't have to worry about being the franchise player & the pressures of playing his hometown anymore

bulls get a much needed consistent perimeter threat and cut their losses with curry. peja has already said he would like to play in the city of chicago and for coach skiles.

As much as I'd love to see Peja in a bulls uni, the Bulls would have to offer more than Curry to Pheonix considering the suns would be parting with Marion... however.. curry and Stoudamire.. maybe amare could kick eddy's ass enough to motivate him to play like he's capable... and this is the same suns team who dealt marbury away for cap room and a couple of unproven euro's... I wish pierce was a bull...

Phoenix gains: Eddy Curry (wow )
Phoenix loses: Marion, Karbakapa

How that helps Phoenix I don't know, Eddy Curry would be a nice addition to their team but not at the expense of someone as good as Marion. Maybe if they got someone else from Sacramento or Chicago the trade would work out ok.

That sounds more fair, I don't know if Sacramento would throw in Christie but it's alot better for Phoenix.

How ironic: Chicago selected Deng with the 7th pick... the pick they got from phoenix for cash and future 1st rounder...

Because the Suns didn't want a guaranteed rookie contract taking up capspace they wanted to use on FA's? Now that FA signings are over they don't need that space anymore. And Deng is the best SF they could get in this trade (at least in the future) from either team with Stojakovic going to Chicago.

And I do think Sacto would give up Christie, if they're going to break up, get rid of some big contracts as well. Christie has this season and next on his contract and since they're getting two SFs in return (and have some nice rookies and B-Jax) they can spare him.

So that counts against the cap even if they dont sign the rookie immediately?

Yes, unsigned first round picks are included in team salary immediately after being selected in the draft. They count as 100% of the scale salary for that pick, unless there is a verbal agreement for a higher salary. After they sign their contract the actual salary counts ofcourse. And 2nd round picks don't count against the cap.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, teams could renounce the rights to their rookie, making him a free agent and then he doesn't count against the cap anymore. The 7th pick is a bit high to renounce though. The Bulls did this with Travis Knight after drafting him, allowing him to sign with the Lakers.

even if i'm overrating him due to being a bulls fan, curry's value is higher than it should be since there are a lack of quality, legit sized centers and he has that dreaded potential tag...

but maybe chicago would have to throw in something else. deng? not sure about that

rens deal seems ok but i don't see why sacto would include doug christie? even if he probably isn't in the team's future plans and the team has that christie clone in the waiting, this proposed deal would leave sacto thin figuratively and literally at SG.
