Well, when the Lakers traded Shaq for junk (yes, junk) Lakers fans were acting like they ripped the Heat off. Atleast, the Laker fans I know. They said Shaq is old, on the decline, wants too much money, ect. They were praising Lamar Odom for what he did in Miami, stating that Caron Butler was 3rd in ROY 2 years ago and talking about how great of a rebounder Brian Grant is.

Now, they sign Vlade Divac. They say a starting front court of Vlade-Grant or Vlade-Odom will be perfect. A front court of Vlade-Grant would be easier to score on than Vlade-Webber, and that was easy.

Now they are talking about this Celtics trade. "I wish we could trade with the Celtics everyday". That just shows their weakness/stupidity. You now have one of the weakest PG position in the league. Atkins/Banks is nothing to be excited about considering last year you had Payton/Fisher.

Chris Mihm is nothing. Nothing.

Now they are saying they can run and gun and be one of the fastest teams in the NBA. Banks-Kobe-Butler-Odom-Vlade. Did you just put Vlade in the fastest teams in the NBA starting lineup? If you do, you will be playing 4 on 5 because he won't be able to get down court in time. He sucks at defense, he can't move anymore. He sucks in the running game and the only thing he is good as is moving the ball around in the half court . Now.

well mitch cup of shit just crapped on yet another hall of famer, i'd be surprised if gheorge muresan agreed to sign with the lakers now that organization is going to the dogs. First they crap on shaq, and then they crap on payton who took a pay cut SPECIFICALLY to play for them when he couldve been getting max elsewhere. Then they cut malone for divac, and even though malone "supposedly" allowed it, they should've shown loyalty to him (for those of you who dont know the deal was that malone would go multiyear, retire early, get a buyout and thus get more money than he was, this done in order to negate the cap).

What a bunch of fucks with, ahem, a star player to match man, it shows how great the logo is as a player and gm, christ, he's only gone a couple of years and the grizzlies are rising up quickly from the sewage tank they once stunk up, and the lackers are going down down down. I wouldnt be surprised if mark cuban had secretly invested into the team and is secretly sabatoging them from within, in that case at least theres a REASON for complete and utter idioticy.

I don't see how the Lakers have the weakest PG position in the league. Banks who is known to be a very good defender led the NBA in steals last year, so that should help solve the Lakers getting burned by the likes of Bibby, and Parker. They should get alot of production at the point guard slot with Atkins coming off the bench assuming that Banks is the starter. They also recently signed Tony Bobbit who is an un-drafted rookie out of Cincinnatti, Bobbit was spectacular in summer-league play which I know doesn't say much but he can shoot lights out from long-range. I really see the Lakers believe it or not having a better back-court than they had last year with Fisher and Payton.*

I don't see that. I mean, come on, Marcus Banks was struggling in Summer League play I heard. Also, Chucky Atkins isn't a good point guard. He's a scrub backup at best.

Marcus Banks, leading the league in steals for 2003/2004? I'm sorry but that's completely false; he did not even lead all rookies in steals during the 2003/2004 campaign (he was ranked sixth, tied with TJ Ford) and was fifth on the Celtics.

For all the potential he might have shown so far, he is not at their level yet. With all due respect, the suggestion that the addition of Banks will prevent the Lakers falling victim to the damage Parker and Bibby are capable of is just absurd.

I must respectfully disagree. They might fit better in the system that Rudy T plans to run, but I would much rather have a backcourt of Payton and Fisher.
