so the Kickstarter part II is to get the game on Steam and in the Early Access program
If we can show Steam that we have hit our Kickstarter goal within the next few weeks, and we can stay on the top 100 list on Greenlight (which we have!) we could, very feasibly, have the next sexy PWX in your hands at an early stage, on STEAM, within a few months.
Once on Steam Early Access, even with a small in progress game, we can feasibly enter full-time development and begin delivering regular updates (for real this time...source code won’t be held for ransom) via Steam, the most powerful, developer friendly, modder friendly, platform on the planet. No more donations for a game coming soon, we could feel good delivering a playable game instantly from that point forward.
So that’s our goal and that’s our strategy. Only ask for enough funds to finish the playable and package it up for Steam within the next few months. And please remember, if you already donated money in the past or bought Uprising at the $14 tier or higher you’ll already gain access to the new game when it’s ready. We aren’t asking you for more of your hard earned money! Please just help spread the word!
So, keep an eye peeled on our social media, email, website, etc. because the new humble little PWX Kickstarter launches this Monday.
Goal is only going to be $6,400. Sounds like a fine plan to me. I may or may not kick in a few extra bucks if the additional stuff is worth it.

I don't know if I'll chip in any more money, but I do hope that they'll still deliver on some of the other benefits that were promised for previous donations.

Awesome. Here's hoping this is the year it finally comes to fruition...Uprising aside.

On double backing
https://twitter.com/ProWrestlingX/statu ... 1220118528@JaoSming If you backed Uprising at $15 or above, you're in on the next game, no double dip. We'll make sure you'll be taken care of!

Ah, excellent. Good to see that kind of goodwill.

Got my login for the "Hero Website" today. As I understand it, Kickstarter folks got their logins a few weeks back, and now everyone else who contributed financially is getting setup as well. I'd say they're taking care of everyone.

For sure, great to see some snippets and another progress report outside the written newsletters.

According to the latest newsletter, the game has been approved for release via Steam. Early access and full release listings are now under their control. Definitely a huge step forward, and another very encouraging sign.

Early Access Launched Today
http://store.steampowered.com/app/297310/$10 ....
Peeved at the $10, I mean, I'm $45 in and, well, yea. If I knew it would eventually be available for $10, just, no. And the fact that those of us that did donate have to wait for keys is also disheartening....oh well.

I'm in the same boat, so yeah, completely agreed.

I'll hold off on this for a couple months. Just want to see some more progress.

Just got my key via email
its worse than uprising (at this stage)

It really is. It looks way better, of course, but it's clunky and not very responsiveness, with lots of clipping and no HUD or on-screen displays. I guess it's Early Access, but they were kind of talking it up to be more.
Compared to the sneak peek we got at Next Car Game, it's a bit disappointing. Still, Early Access.

An update's been pushed through, though it's made it even buggier before in my opinion. As cool as it is to see progress being made, the positive reactions and press are...disproportionate.
Mon Jun 01, 2015 9:37 am
A substantial update is supposedly in the pipeline and getting closed to being pushed through.
Mon Jun 01, 2015 11:47 am
yeah....I think you can see it here
http://www.twitch.tv/prowrestlingxgame/v/5488312I'm honestly chalking this up as a loss for me. We'll probably never get the glorious "JaoSming" wrestler I paid for in that Kickstarter.
Maybe it's WWE + semi-supported mods being on PC, but this project, I dunno, still so far to go.
Mon Jun 01, 2015 12:19 pm
Same, to a certain extent. I'm sure they'll honour it if they get there, but progress hasn't been any faster since getting on Steam.
Sat Jun 20, 2015 12:19 pm
So the long-awaited update has come through, and it's...probably at least as good as Uprising, albeit graphically superior. It's still a long way from complete, feels quite clunky, and the camera cuts after moves aren't done very well at all, but it's still a substantial update. The basics are coming together, it's probably the best thing they've put out there so far.

Definitely. Very pleasing to see.

Big bump here, but I checked it out again for the first time in a while, and following the updates that have come through over the past year or so.
Honestly, I'm underwhelmed. When you look at what Basketball Classics has done as an Early Access game, for Pro Wrestling X to still be this buggy, sloppy, and incomplete after several years on Early Access...look, I get it's an investment, a constant work-in-progress, a pet project and a pipe dream from a small team that are working on it part-time. Still, it's disappointing that it's never really gone anywhere. The gameplay is still sluggish and buggy. There's a bunch of bells and whistles, new match types and such, but they don't change the fact the core experience is barely beyond being a tech demo. It actually feels like some of the updates have taken it back a few steps.
Sadly, it feels like a bust, and I'm not sure it'll ever become an enjoyable game by the time it hits 1.0. Like JaoSming said a few years back, I'm basically chalking it up as a loss. It'd be nice to be wrong, but I don't really have any confidence in the project anymore. It did feel like it might be on the right track, but to still be in this state after so many years and updates...well, it's not looking all that promising to me.

In hindsight the things said in that Dave-Dan drama (3rd page of this thread) should have been a massive red flag for this game's development.
