walker to NY or philly?

Sat Jul 24, 2004 6:57 pm

Well, walker spoke upand felt he is going to get traded to NY :? i don't wnat this to happen, i really don't like his style of play, i just don't think its going to work too well since Sweetney needs more playing time to put up them good numbers he was doing last season. I don't care about his contract, Knicks are going to be over the salary either way so it don't matter- knicks can worry abouut salary when they finish paying Allan houston and his 100mill contract.
I hope he goes to philly, he would be a better fit there I think. They sure can use some 3 point shooters down there and Walker would fit that role.

Philly lost Snow and now need another natural PG. This is where Walker comes in

Seriously though, I think he'd be better off in Philly individually because of O'Brien but he'll end up in NY

Sat Jul 24, 2004 7:13 pm

As a knicks fan im very worried. Stay away Antoine. I was thinking they could get him as he only has 1 year in his contract though. They could send some bad contracts.

Sat Jul 24, 2004 7:20 pm

I don't know if people reliazed but Isiah Thomas is a BAD GM. Now he wants Walker, tsk tsk, bad move

Sat Jul 24, 2004 8:32 pm

Marbury + Toine  = (N) (N) (N)

Sat Jul 24, 2004 9:32 pm

I actually dont think antoine would be bad in new york... him and marbury would be able to go iso all day, and have allan houston spacing the court, you could go pick and pop or pick and roll with marbury and walker, or have marbury have a screener (nazr) and have walker on the other side of the court.. as long as he doesnt wear number 8 :)

Sat Jul 24, 2004 9:38 pm

That sounds pretty good, however, Walker likes to play his own game. If somebody rattled his head a bit and actually coached the guy then he'd be a real good addition to any team.

If this deal goes through, i bet that Walker will attempt more 3's than Houston, which is outrageous

Sat Jul 24, 2004 9:43 pm

It sounds crazy, but walker gets better looks from outside becuase teams dont respect that shot as much as allan houstons. if anyone is willing to give houston enough space to take a 3 comfortable in a one on one situation, then they should be benched. I think walker would get shaken up by the harsh knick fans if he tried to do what he did in boston... walker is not a bad player at all.. id rather him than tim thomas.

Walker is very talented just his game and shot selection is awful.
He could be much better.

Sat Jul 24, 2004 10:38 pm

His shot selection isnt the best, but to call his game awful? man...

Sat Jul 24, 2004 11:22 pm

Walker should go to philly. He and iverson would be called "The worst shot-selection duo".

Sat Jul 24, 2004 11:45 pm

lol @ the thought of walker doing an iso.. he can probably shake free of his man but the chances of him hitting an open shot.. or any kind of shot rather is highly unlikely

Walker is one of those frustrating players that you scream at because he could be really good. He's got all the tools but he doesn't use them. He likes to play his own type of ball, oblivious to the people around him

Sun Jul 25, 2004 12:41 am

hmm...walker will look good in knicks' uniform...and play good in knicks' system...

Sun Jul 25, 2004 1:06 am

He'd fit in a lot of places but his shot selection is bad (N) I'd like to see him go to the Knicks ;)

Sun Jul 25, 2004 3:19 am

I wonder if Walker could be used as some bait to land VC.

I agree, I think he might fit pretty well.

Walker ran a lot of iso's in Beantown w/OBie. They had a very stagnant offense those days, with Walker or PP isoed and creating their own shot. Walker is a very good playmaker when he iso's, he can drive, he can post, he was their main playmaker, since they had shooting point guards.

I think Walker is getting a bad rap here. Or too much so. Yeah, he has a bad shot selection, but he's a leader, a playmaker, a solid rebounder, decent post game, and can hit the 3 if left open. He took nearly half the 3's he took the year before.

Sun Jul 25, 2004 7:55 am

oh im not saying walker is a bad player.. he has crazy handles for a man his size.. i'm just saying he doesn't shoot the ball that well.. he's a really streaky player that's all

Sun Jul 25, 2004 10:30 am

The Knicks want every single FA and almost every player in the league seem like it. Everywhere I see an article NY has a chance of getting them. As many FA's and players the Knicks are interested in I don't think they will do nothing but make probably one trade and that's it. I'm just getting sick of Knicks Knicks Knicks going after every single person in free agency

Sun Jul 25, 2004 2:26 pm

yeah I'm starting to notice that too, but its New Yor, thats why. They need something to keep people into it.

Sun Jul 25, 2004 2:33 pm

Yeah all rumors involving the knicks are bogus. They always end up good for the knicks and bad for all other parties.

Sun Jul 25, 2004 8:12 pm

Toine really seems keen to get out of Dallas. Dealing him for Kurt Thomas is perhaps the best move for the Mavericks since adding Glenn Robinson doesn't really solve anything, but I think New York should hold on to Kurt Thomas. I like the Philadelphia trade - since Glenn Robinson is a classic scoring small forward not unlike (but nowhere near as good as) Dominique Wilkins, the Mavs probably wouldn't have too many regrets about bringing him on board.

Sun Jul 25, 2004 9:49 pm

Yeah Robinson is a perfect fit for the Mavs. He doesn't play D and he likes to shoot :D Although i think his injury problems could stop any possible trades.

On the other hand, GRob would be a terrible fit since they don't need someone who shoots and doesn't play D . They need the opposite.
