When you start out in the game, you’re on a pretty tight budget and have to settle for an old beater as your first ride. By winning races and earning money you get to upgrade the car, and this is where the real fun begins.
You can spend your money freely on whatever you want to and swap out engine parts, transmission or suspension, even transplant the whole engine if you want to!
The catch is in that the parts need to be bought from the classifieds – the in-game store where you can buy and sell cars and parts – meaning that not all parts are available at all times, and some of them are cheap junk that will break down given a slightest chance; but also that you can find pretty sweet deals if you check the ads regularly.
Another important thing is that we definitely don’t want the parts to have an arbitrary effect on the car performance or handling, such as simply increasing acceleration or top speed. No way, we want the parts to take cues from their real-life counterparts as far as their effect is considered to make them more unique and interesting.
