He'll be a backup for Brad Miller. This is a good move, mainly because he's the only big man that the Kings could actually afford.

I like the signing, he's dependable at least... The Keens keep getting good players every offseason no matter what. Good move.

lakers were lacking in size and im looking at ostertag to play for lakers.
so queens getting him only make me mad. ostertag is a decent play and a good fit for a team where he dont have to score like lakers, dallas and queens. he will back-up miller and will contribute well in queens. they lost divac but get a ostertag.
divac>ostertag esp on age.

Ostertag seems like the kind of player that's always pissed off...maybe this move can help out with his anger management problem...

He's good enough to give Brad Miller a breather while still being solid in a limited appearance. I don't think you'd call it a move that makes the Kings significantly better though.

I think you can call it such a move. Ostertag gives them a solid, defensive backup big man that they've sorely needed. He gives them a shot blocker, a rebounder. Miller, Divac, Webber, they weren't exceptional rebounders, shotblockers, or defenders. Ostertag is, in limited minutes, which he will get. He is exactly what the Kings need to help defensively. Offense could be a problem, but he can set screens, backdoor cuts, etc and hang around for offensive rebounds and dunks

you'll never have a hard time finding a job if you're a 7ft shlub...
but yeh, ogretag fills in the void (somewhat) that keon clark left defensively

bah, stupid Ostertag... only valuable cuz he's 7 ft tall... The Kings disappointed me here.

Ive always hated him but as it was said before he will fit perfectly in Sacramento.
With what's available its a good pick for the kings, they needed a big body anyway.

Ostertag will make some good posters in the future.
I swear, he's gotta be one of the most dunked on guys ever!

Patrick Ewing and David Robinson deserve to be in that categorie as well. In the near future, maybe Yao.
On topic: Ostertag can have some productive minutes off the bench for the Kings. He's not a terrible player, but Divac was a special type of C (not just for the flopping), a very good passer, a skill that Ostertag doesn't have.

Not saying he is on par with Divac, but Miller can fill a good portion of that role.

Of course, Miller is also a good passer. Brad is, IMO, capable of more things that Vlade right now, 'cause he's younger, but he's not the type of leader that Divac was. Go Miller and Ostertag!
