Trust me. You wouldn't be saying that if you've been to the Cinema lately. Friggin movie of the year.

Meh, Superman ditched his underwear from the outside.

Good to know Nolan delivered again. He was a major disappointment with Rises. As for the movie of the year, what about life in the Fast 6 lane? You just can't get that Diesel voice out of your head

i loved the new man of steel though not all agree. in my opinion is comes down to are you a fan of the superman comics or a fan of christopher reeves superman. if all you really know about superman is from watching him on tv or movies then you might not love the movie. if you are a fan of his comics you should love it

Re: The Brooklyn Nets Thread (RESPECT)..

Fri Jun 21, 2013 12:47 am

I disagree. I ain't no fan of any, in fact, super hero movies bores me usually to death, like avenger was a horrible one.

This superman IMO was pretty cool tho because storytelling was awesome without any hiccups(like lame jokes that derails you off), CGs were also top notch, and character development was interesting. Together, it's an entertaiment worth your evening. If I had any complaint... murican/religion-ish stuff which awkwardly was forced into the story.. Minor tho. LoL

Re: The Brooklyn Nets Thread (RESPECT)..

yeah superman is less of a superhero movie and more of a sci fi flick. hell the first 20 minutes could be plugged into a starwars movie and you would not know the difference. on top of that the man of steel was a very serious movie which is a big reason why i think it didnt connect with all movie fans. so many people just wanted nothing more than iron man with superman instead. comedy worked there but a more serious superman was the best choice

I think there's a movie thread...unless we're saying that the Nets stand for Truth, Justice and the American Way and that's why we should RESPECT them.

Goyer also said they tried to work in a Jack Ryder reference but DC shot it down for unknown reasons.

SoF'nAwesome wrote:Good to know Nolan delivered again

But did he? The guys basically a middleman to get in the way of higher up WB interference.

Re: The Brooklyn Nets Thread (RESPECT)..

Fri Jun 21, 2013 4:36 pm

But this thread has more post about the Superman movie than the 2013 in Film thread...Kidd is also the Superman of all the PGs since he's the greatest, IMVHO...Kidd is also the Superman that will save the Nets and lead them to a championship.

Just realized the Wayne Enterprises satellite could also be a reference to another (future) Wayne satellite, the Watchtower (Justice League base in the animated series by WB).

Re: The Brooklyn Nets Thread (RESPECT)..

Fri Jun 21, 2013 4:56 pm

I'd much rather it be a reference to Brother Eye.

Especially since in the comics Wayne Enterprises doesn't have all that much to do with the JLA's Watchtowers. (Instead of you know all the fucking advanced alien and god tech they have access to.)

I thought this was the Brooklyn Nets Respect Thread. What are these Superman posts all about it's disrespectful. Kidd is the best PG, Carter is the best SG, Richard Jefferson is the best SF, Kerry Kittles the best PF and Nenad Krstic the best C imo.

There goes that intelligence about nets basketball, thanks but fyi it's scal..

I am just telling my opinion right? I think it's not my problem if people would accept that or not(same goes for me). Stockton is a great PG, leads the NBA history in both assists and steals, a member of the 1st USA dream team (tho I could say that it should be isiah but MJ don't want him), but I don't see stockton can lead a mediocre 32 win team to a 52 win Finals in back2back seasons, w/ just a 2nd/3rd yr kmart and RJ and the great scal, people would say that east was very weak back then and compare utah's run against great teams in the west in those yrs(great defensive teams) but he had the best finisher in the history of the game in k.malone and the great sloan. Kidd started as a PG w/ no jumpshot but where did he end in leagues history in 3pt's made? only behind reggie and rayray. Ask other players what it's like to play w/ Kidd and you'll get the answer.

and hey "the more you hate the more you love" LOL..

Re: The Brooklyn Nets Thread (RESPECT)..

52 wins team is nothing of phenomenal for any season. Look up how many wins the Suns were able to pile up with Nash, or NOH with CP3. But you're right, the Nets got to the Finals with 52 wins and 48 wins in consecutive seasons(iirc) though it somewhat underlines shifty level of competition at the time.

Kidd's great but he almost holds no ground to be the best PG ever. Competition is just too steep.

Miller said he followed Sloan into his office and told him, "I want you to be very clear on one thing. If anything ever got to the point where we had to make the choice between a player and you as our head coach, we would side with you 100 times out of 100."

Utah Jazz CEO Greg Miller recounts night Jerry Sloan resigned

That's a classy move right there.

Re: The Brooklyn Nets Thread (RESPECT)..

Wed Jun 26, 2013 11:18 am

So Sloan resigned because he didn't want the franchise to be put in that difficult decision of choosing. (Y)

I wonder how long the Nets' coach killer will make the greatest PG quit the team.

Exactly.
Coach killer.

IMVHO Williams is the best PG in the league. Every team he has been on has had a winning record so far.

WOW Billy King for EOY!

Secured LFrank(Celt's Vets loved him when he was w/ the Boston Celtics and has great relationship w/ JKidd) as asst HC for JKidd, added JET(makes sense since he played w/ JKidd during MAVS Chamiopnship), KG and Tha Truth, got rid of Crash/Hump's contracts AND REGGIE EVANS!!

Nets(current) line-up would be basically

Dwill/JET/Taylor
JJ/Brooks/JET/Bogans
PP/Bogdanovic(euro stash)/Toko
KG/Blatche/Tele
Brook/Blatche/Plumlee(22 pick '13)

Can't imagine the floor spacing for DWill to operate and hey KG might be our 5th option on offense, no more Crash-in-RayAllen-Mode since we now have PP!, no more Reggie boxing-out Brook for padding rebounds. Basically what I've looked forward for BK/Proky(CBA really?lol) to get for them to contend nxt season. A PF that can run and defend the Pick n Roll/Pop(KG's one of the best), a SF that can hit the 3 consistently and can also defend(PP is still a good 1-1 defender, and clutch). I would definitely expect for Brook to get better since he's now under KG's wing(he did well when he was with EVANS, imagine a KG?), and DWill might have to bring his A game now that he is now entering his prime and w/ teammates that has the winning attitude, great team leaders(vocal on court leaders) and PO/Championship experience. Again pessimists will say that KG/PP are done/washed that this is not 2008, but a team w/ DWill/JJ/PP/KG/Lopez could certainly win more against that Knicks team. They will not be the 1st/2nd option in scoring and carry the team. Coach Kidd should watch their playing time(like the spurs did to TP/Manu/TD) carefully, would be a great half-court team, w/ that floor spacing, the PnR/Pop bet Dwill/KG/Lopez would be deadly.

The nets lost Crash's contract(tho a great teammate that contract is just awful, thought to be untradable) and Hump's expyring, REGGIE EVANS GREAT FLOOR SPACING, Bogans, Joseph and 3 1st round '14, '16, '18 picks and Celts would have the rights to swap picks w/ the Nets in the 2017. When KG/PP's contract's are up, the cap space for KD(like JKidd as a coach via tweet & just being Jay-Z!) might be there too! Still expect some moves as the FA's would be available in july. MarShon Brooks, Bogdanovic, that mini-MLE, AK-47, are all still on play :cheeky:

Way to make me look like an ass. :(

But seriously, this is the deal that could work out well for the Nets. If KG's body holds up, I believe your team will be in a pretty good shape to make a run for the money. And if Paul Pierce gets some lift back in his legs, that's even better. But make no mistakes. I see this deal as one or two year rental at great risks because those picks could turn out to be money as well. But nonetheless, something had to happen with so much invested. Best of luck to your team.
